On Tuesday, Chinese artist Liu Bolin flew out to New York City with one very unique goal: to be painted into the famous Kevin Scharf mural on Bowery and Houston.
The idea was developed by the curatorial group Wooster Collective, with help from Tony Goldman and the Eli Klein Gallery, and it was executed by Bolin’s assistants and even Kevin Scharf himself.
This was Bolin’s first live performance piece in the United States, and it was quite successful. You can barely see Bolin in some of these pictures!
