Chinese artist, Lin Tianmiao, is displaying her work in New York. With a show at the Asia Society Museum until January 20th and a solo show at Galerie Lelong this month, Lin Tianmiaos‘ reputation is being reenforced as one of the most influential Chinese female artists.
Some say that she has “risen to the ranks of the male art stars.” That statement is underwhelming. Her work is in no way equal to male artists. Her ability to express emotions in her work has long surpassed the limitation of gender. Her work carries an act of liberation with the sensibility of a woman and the severity of her culture.
