RESPECT. Interview: Verse Character

We caught up with the “Ring, Ring, Ring” rapper, Verse Character. He recently released his hit single “Fortnite,” which spark the world with the new game Fortnite that was released. We chatted about when his upcoming project will release, how did the single “Fortnite,” come about and what his name mean.

RESPECT.: “Ring Ring Ring” is one of the tracks that everyone loves and it is hit! How did you come up with such a bouncy tune? How did you and CashMoneyAP come about?

“Ring Ring Ring” is one of my most LIT tracks yet! Honestly, I was in the room vibing to different beats until I came along the CashMoneyAP track. It took me a while to figure out how I was gone come on the track until my phone started “ringing.” So I started saying “ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, yea!” Once I got in tuned; it was history from there!

RESPECT.: The single and visual for “Candyland” has been going up vastly, what will follow up with such a hit record back to back?

Candyland! That video was fun to make and it captured a creative angle I went for. My singles: “Ring Ring Ring,” “Candyland,” and “Runaway” are on my upcoming project. So much more gems in this tape, as well as, bangers that’ll blow the kids minds!

RESPECT.: How did you get the name Diverse Character?

I wouldn’t even say its a name I got. It’s more of a name that found me through my character in itself. I’ve always been a unique individual by how I carry myself and the different music I choose to entertain and value. I’m different by being “Diverse.”

RESPECT.: With your recent single “Fortnite,” how did you come about doing the single? What did the idea come about? Explain.

Honestly, I was playing the game so much my eyes were red. My brother comes into the room and says, “Yo! Why are you on this game so much? You should make a track to it.” It was genius as can be! The song has been streamed ever since. Wow I really love “Fortnite.”

RESPECT.: Who influenced you to start pursuing music?

A few friends, I have watched as a young kid influenced me to get on the mic and tell my story. I was around a bunch of young creatives, but I “dabbled” my way into the mix. When I started, I didn’t have that much support from my friends about making music. I continued to follow my dreams; and it later influenced me to tell my story.

Respect is everything! One must earn by being themselves and staying authentic in toxic situations.

RESPECT.: Who are some artists or producers you want to collaborate with in the near future?

Everyone with a message by having a great vibe and drive to better themselves everyday.

RESPECT.: What is next for you?

There will be more music and shows. There is a 10-track EP in the works that will show my songwriting skills.

RESPECT.: Will there be a project coming out soon?

Yes, I will be releasing my first project! Also there will be dope tracks and visuals on the way! A complete story that will give a new outlook on what we call “paradise” as dreamers.
