Right now, many of us (read: people of color) are pretty hype over the upcoming film Black Panther and everything surrounding its rollout — including the recent red carpet premiere and accompanying album. As far as the latter (which is being executive produced by Kendrick Lamar and TDE), we’re now able to see the simple-yet-powerful artwork for the project (above), as well as the tracklisting and features (below). In addition to K. Dot and the Top Dawg crew (ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock), Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Anderson .Paak, James Blake, Vince Staples, 2 Chainz, Jorja Smith and more provide contributions as well.
You can pre-order Black Panther: The Album before it — and the film — drops February 9th. In related news, Kendrick recently sat down with Touré for the latest episode of his podcast; you can stream that here.
Finally, I can’t help but say this: just as is with the forthcoming TDE Championship tour, Isaiah Rashad isn’t making an appearance on this, either. Did the kid get dropped from the label?
