Miami Dolphins’ running back Jay Ajayi caught up with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson by phone. Press play below to listen to their conversation about offseason preparation.
The Miami Dolphins’ secret weapon has been their formidable presence on the ground from their running back Jay Ajayi.
A first-time Pro Bowler last season, Ajayi was drafted by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Boise State.
Ajayi’s 391 rushing yards ranks him seventh in the NFL.
Dating back to last season, the Dolphins are 11-0 when Ajayi has 17 or more carries. In those 11 wins, the offense is averaging 26.9 points per game.
What keeps his motor running?
“I like to look into alternative methods of working out,” Jay Ajayi told me by phone while on Scoop B Radio.
“Being in Florida, I definitely use the beach and water workouts and I like to do a lot of things with cones and field work.”
Aerobics and calisthenics is the wave and he like to be gassed up and ready to go.
“I like to be active,” he said.
The 3-2 Dolphins take on the New York Jets today in Miami.
