Rising star Joshy Jacksson goes all-in and ‘plays for keeps’ on his new single “SWEAR,” which premiered earlier today. He menacingly calls out the fake, fraudulent and phony over dark, ominous pianos and punchy trap percussion. The gritty new single plays more like a manifesto, with Jacksson pulling no punches on his sinister yet catchy follow-up to his single “ISSUES.” While still putting the finishing touches on his debut EP later this year, Joshy is ready to put everything on the line on his newest release.
For Joshy Jacksson, music is pain – a collaboration of the streets and life. Having lost his father Jack at a young age – a Jewish man who aspired to be an artist – he dedicated his artist name to his father who introduced him to music. Joshy Jacksson is essentially broken down to Joshy Jack’s-son. After the passing of his father, he moved from Manhattan to Queens where his Latina mother raised him. Growing up in an environment of musically inclined and talented people, music became a significant part of his life. Joshy is passionate about his music and makes it a point to not entertain speaking about things he himself has not experienced. His lyrics are authentic and unapologetically creative. He believes people limit themselves to one lane of music for various reasons; however, he believes in taking advantage of his full creative potential for any particular beat no matter the genre.
“Swear” is available for streaming at the very top of the post. Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
