Days before it’s finally released to the masses, Kendrick Lamar has liberated his upcoming album’s title and tracklisting. The project is titled DAMN. and will see 14 tracks and appearances from U2 and Rihanna.
While many are speculating DAMN. to be a response to a few of his fellow peers, Lamar did speak on what fans can expect in a past interview with T: The New York Times Style Magazine:
I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork… To Pimp a Butterfly was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore. We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God.
Previously, DAMN.‘s writing and production credits hit the internet, which saw contributions from the likes of DJ Dahi, James Blake, BADBADNOTGOOD, The Alchemist, 9th Wonder and Mike WiLL Made-It (who provided the backdrop for the album’s first single, “HUMBLE.” You can see the full credits along with the tracklisting below.
