Wait a minute! Stop the presses! And 1 basketball is dropping a mixtape.
Say what?
Remember Rafer “Skip To My Lou” Alston, Stephon Marbury, The Professor and Escalade? And 1, the storied sneaker company that engaged with fans with character themed apparel and seamlessly meshed street ball, hip hop into one genre is turning the clocks backward and forward again with a mixtape. The And 1 Tai Chi Remix Volume 1, is an ode to the legendary Tai Chi sneaker that was re-released earlier this month and popularity after Vince Carter, then a member of the Toronto Raptors donned them sixteen years ago when he won the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk contest during NBA All Star Weekend.
The new mixtape, which is executive produced by Dallas Stokes and Drea Davinci features a track with Memphis Grizzlies guard Lance Stephenson dropping a verse as well as French Montana, Jay Ovara, Bumpy Chill, I. Oliver, King Teddy, AGK, Mr. Midas and more. Sources within the AND 1 camp tell RESPECT Mag that the mixtape will be available for digital download on AND1.com at weeks end.
