July just started but it already looks like this month is going to be graffiti-heavy. Felice Varini recently produced a grandiose piece in Hasselt, Belgium, painting the roofs and facades of 99 buildings to create three circular patterns. The dynamic piece is entitled: ‘Trois ellipses ouvertes en désordre,’ meaning “Three open ellipses in a mess.” Most viewers see the piece as fragments laying on a wall–they can only see the final result from a very particular vantage point. The average viewer is given the freedom to imagine what a random white stripe on a wall might signify or belong to, which becomes an experience in itself.

He recently produced the piece above entitled, “”Doubts Of The Soul.” Zed1 seems captivated by the meaning of time. Using vibrant colors and the charming imagery of a bird, the Italian artist produces an image which at first glance appears adorable and endearing. However, if you look a little closer you will recognize “warning” symbols such as the red apple and the red snake seemingly taunting the bird and a red mask that looks like the devil reminding us that things are never quite what they seem.

Zed 1, Italian street artist also known as Mark Burresi, completed the mural above in Amsterdam. He created a large colorful piece featuring his grotesque characters. This piece was ordered by Look For Art Gallery, henxs paintshop and StreetArt.nl. The artist skillfully brought humor to an upsetting situation of conflict.

Zed1, an Italian street artist, recently developed a “Second Skin” project. In his large murals he plays with the ideal that everything can change. It’s an innovative way to paint walls. Overtime, his mural and its meaning metamorphoses itself and evolves. He successfully captures that in a series of videos.
