]]> Bridges that connected out of mutual admiration for one another, and a mutual love for the art form of hip-hop. Mega Ran and Young RJ have teamed up to make up Slum Village  while collaborating through the music game together. Young RJ is the stalwart producer for the Detroit legends, and Mega Ran has built a reputation as the heavyweight champion of alternative hip-hop. Together, the two humble emcees hope to push their message farther than it has ever gone before.

Slum Village

With modesty and respect for those in the game who came before them, Mega Ran and Young RJ hope to use their relatable and very real story to reach the ears of new listeners. Ran and RJ are starting the year off strong with their debut single “Pray” with Europe’s own Abstract Orchestra & Daru Jones, produced by Young RJ. It is the lead focus track off their upcoming full-length album 2HandsUp due out March 2020.

Tomorrow, the legendary rap group Slum Village will release their new project Dirty Slums 2.  Realistically, this isn’t the same Slum Village that gave us classics like “Closer,” “Climax,” “The Look of Love,“ etc.  The group now consists of T3, Illa J, and Young RJ.  But, in the same spirit, listeners will get a new project from the group featuring: Rapper Big Pooh, Joe Scudda, Focus and more.  Giving fans an appetizer before the album, Slum Village releases their new track “The World is Yours” paying respect to the classic by Nas.  The song also features an posthumous appearance of deceased member Baatin.
