RESPECT. Premiere: R&B Singer Yelly Unveils “Confide” Music Video

Sacramento singer-songwriter Yelly has released her new music video “Confide,” which offers us an artist fearless enough to overcome vulnerability. Using her blissful vocals, the 18-year-old uses her voice as a tool for vocal expression. Directed by Mikey Rare, “Confide” finds her dismissing a bad relationship and turning it into a soothing banger.

“Who will I confide in? Who will I confide in? / You the one that I’ve been talking ’bout when I be writing.”

Yelly puts her all into her music and from the polished nature that she so frequently provides, music has proven to be a healthy outlet for the songstress. Check out the music video for “Confide” below.

Marmar Oso Drops “Dream Girl,” Announces Debut Album

Marmar Oso just dropped his latest music video, “Dream Girl.” It’s produced by SephGotTheWaves and finds the Sacramento singer chasing the girl of his dreams. Furthermore, it’s shot by rising director Mikey Rare and finds Marmar going through a total transformation. In the 3-minute clip, he upgrades his clothes to personality, just to get that one special girl. “Dream Girl” is the latest single on his new project, Love Don’t Cost A Thing.

Love Don’t Cost A Thing contains features from YK Osiris, Luh Kel, Yelly, Derek King, and TeeJay3k. The project is slated to drop in early May alongside pre-release singles “Summer Fling” and “Ride Or Die.” In the meantime, check out Marmar Oso’s video for “Dream Girl” above.

Kyle Banks Shares “Wind It Down” Visuals

Los Angeles singer Kyle Banks has been building a catalog full of bangers. This past week, KB treated fans to his latest visual effort for “Wind It Down.” Furthermore, the track is produced by frequent collaborators Meez and Louie Ji. It serves as a follow-up to 2019’s “Hit My Phone” and finds the singer tied up by a woman dressed in black lingerie.

“Met you at the club, taking shots, taking photos / Took you to your car, got you smoking weed in that four-door,” he sings. Check out the video below.

Marmar Oso & Yelly Share “Ride Or Die” Visuals

Sacramento’s finest and now power couple Marmar Oso and Yelly treat fans to “Ride or Die.” The music video arrives right on time for Valentine’s Day and is directed by Mikey Rare. It finds the two committing a gas station robbery and recording a vlog using VHS. Marmar and Yelly make for a modern day Bonnie and Clyde as they glide through the city.

“Contemplating and debating, ’cause this feelings so frustrating / But they gone hate when they found out we been dating,” Yelly sings. Check out the video below.

Meet Yelly, Sacramento’s Queen of R&B

Emerging from the city of Sacramento, rising R&B singer-songwriter Yelly is walking us through her journey over soul-infused beats. Her music basks in nurturing warmth as she reflects on past experiences that would soon shape the 18-year-old artistry into a top-tier songstress. On Yelly’s latest offering, Don’t Drown, she explores the ups and downs of love and experiences growing up. Yelly initially splashed onto the scene with her 2017 debut, “Don’t Take My Voice.” Poetry has always been a passion that she effortlessly delivers, making herself a voice for the community she resides in. Months back, the Sacramento-native went viral via Twitter for her remarkably candid work, garnering over 300K views. In due time, you can expect the singer to be on top with the likes of her idols. Can you talk about how your life was while developing as an artist? How do you manage school and growing as a musical figure?

‎

I’m so thankful for my journey because I feel like I let went exactly how it was supposed to go. I really got to experience childhood so I was able to find myself before my name was in the limelight in my city. Going to school and doing music definitely forced me to stay focused because I was juggling all of the responsibilities but it taught me to be able to make things happen at once.

‎

What obstacles have you faced thus far that really defined you as a musician?

‎

Believing in myself was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Once I started doing that and letting go of energy that was negative or stagnant, I started to flourish.

‎

You’re very creative when it comes to music videos, what’s your process when coming up with video ideas and which video has been your favorite so far?

‎

Creating for me can be me at the park sitting in the car smoking and brainstorming different concepts or being in the middle of doing something and a whole movie plot just comes to my head. It really just depends on the video. My favorite video of mine is “Love N Drugs” because of its deepness.

‎

How would you describe your latest effort, Don’t Drown?

‎

Don’t Drown is really a compilation of everything I was going through in the summer of 2019. It’s a glimpse of what I was going through in my love life and personal life.

‎

In comparison to your previous works, what would you say has been the biggest change in your sound?

‎‎‎

I would say I’ve incorporated a lot more rapping into my style and not just my usual slow vibe.

‎

Do you tend to get comparisons to any other R&B singers? If so, who and why do you think so?

‎

I would say Summer Walker is someone I’m compared to a lot. That’s likely because of the type of beats I tend to gravitate to. I love her and her music so it’s a compliment but as I grow as an artist I can’t wait to create my own distinct sound.

‎

If it weren’t for music, where do you see yourself right now?

‎

I would probably have a 9-5 and be going to school to work with the youth somehow. I’m really big in community work so I would be doing something with the people.

‎

What can we expect to see or hear from Yelly in the future?

‎

You can expect to see the unexpected. There are so many people that don’t know about me or my music yet. I’m so eager to put into everything I create.

Sacramento Singer Yelly Drops Off ‘Don’t Drown’ EP

Last month, Sacramento’s very own singer-songwriter Yelly delivered “Revenge” in anticipation of her 2019 debut. Today, she shares the long-awaited Don’t Drown EP. It’s a five-track effort filled with soulful bars lyrics that tackle elements of love and longevity. Moreover, the project is preceded by “Concrete,” the opening cut on Yelly’s impressive project.

Don’t Drown is a follow up to her 2018 project Lust N Found. “Musically, this project contains a lot of the same soulful feels as my last project, but you get more raw insight on my personal life,” Yelly writes. Check out the project below.

Sacramento Singer Yelly Is Seeking “Revenge” In New Single

Hailing Sacramento, CA, Yelly is a singer-songwriter who caught major buzz in late-2018 with her debut EP, Lust N Found. The project included standout cuts like “Do You” and “Call Me,” which shot the Sac-native into the limelight last year. Today, Yelly is preparing to unveil her forthcoming project, Don’t Drown, with “Revenge.” The song is about a past lover cheating and “playing games,” ultimately causing the songstress to get payback in her Rob Driscal-directed music video.

“Treating me like I’m average, you just turned me to a savage / I guess I was too much for you, something you couldn’t manage,” she harmonizes. “Revenge” arrives on the heels of her “Concrete” music video, which dropped weeks back. Check out the music video above.
