Thanks to a recent twitter rant (I don’t rant often), about wanting to hear new and fresh music, I was granted with a very special gift. Florida is definitely a hot bed for music, but people ofter over-look the up and coming artist that are in the city really making good music. Today, I was introduced to Fort Lauderdale emcee, Xali, and I’ll have to say that I am completely blown away. The rapid-fire spitting, Xali, holds all the weight on his recent album release, The R.E.D — the 11 track tape, full of hard-hitting drums and melodic entities definitely will pull you in closer to the upcoming emcee.

Diving into The R.E.D, songs like: ‘Grip‘, ‘Mattress on the Floor‘, and ‘C.Y.B‘ caught my attention right off the bat. I haven’t heard a completely gritty project since Flatbush Zombies released their debut tape ‘D.R.U.G.S’ back in 2012. Despite the hard hitting 808’s and trap-vibe, Xali effortlessly flows over EVERY SINGLE SONG followed up by actual lyrics that stick.

I totally believe that Xali’s music will commerically succeed in a market run by true hip-hop heads and advant concert-goers.
