RAP.WELL founder Drew Godson delivers the first single off of his upcoming EP, SOUNDtracks. Titled “Murder In The First,” the boom bap style rap single is produced by fellow RAP.WELL member Pat Streater and is the perfect introduction to the undeniable classic hip hop style Drew exudes. Both Drew & Pat hail from Brooklyn and put on for the RAP.WELL crew along with Detroit-based producer and engineer Niles Mack. There will be more smooth production courtesy of Pat on the new project along with and some work from Niles and Willie B of Digi-Phonics, as well. You can expect to hear more boom bap and old school influences on the upcoming EP, as well as soul samples and jazz infused production. There is no release date as of yet, but keep an eye out! SOUNDtracks will arrive sooner than later.

As she continues to build her buzz, Cali’s own Mickey Taelor releases the next visual from her HiiGrade Vol 2 project, “Gemini 2.0.” The mellow and sophisticated Willie B. produced track touches on the intricacies of relationships, with Mickey’s melodic voice painting the picture of a day with her love interest gone awry. Since jumping on the scene in 2010 with her debut project The Presentation, New York based MC L.atasha A.lcindor, has stayed consistent, releasing two follow-up projects, and performing alongside artists like Big Sean, Nipsey Hussle and more.  Listening to A.lcindor’s music, it’s apparent that she’s not only a dope MC but also a poetic being — some of her rhymes flow almost like spoken word poetry.  She is currently gearing up to release her new EP, Spark, next Wednesday via DJBooth.net. But before doing so, A.lcindor is giving us a taste of what we can expect in the form of “St. Michael.”

The track which was produced by Willie B of TDE fame, is centered around the idea of expression towards higher self.  The video is directed by Krime Scene Films, who also helped with Lupe Fiasco’s controversial “Bad Bitch.”

Multi-talented Terrace Martin‘s upcoming album 3ChordFold sounds like it’s going to be a great project. From features with Teedra Moses, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and more that have already leaked from the album, which was originally slated for a 2012 release, the project seems like an eclectic blend of great music. To hold fans over until the album is released, Martin is releasing a new track in the form of “Why,” featuring TDE counterpart Jay Rock and Wendi Vaugn.  The track that was co-produced with Willie B of TDE’s Digi+Phonics, however, will not be on the album due to clearance issues regarding the sample.
