UK rappers are taking over right now. Long under appreciated, hip/hop artists over the pond are blending American styles with a uniquely British sound to produce tracks that the whole world can appreciate. Another prominent rapper is  Danny Seth, who RESPECT spoke to a few weeks ago. Now, Grand Wa Zoo are breaking into prominence with their video for new single, “Von D.”

The North West London-bred group Grand Wa Zoo is comprised of Jay, Ryo and Lilli. While experimenting with American style Hip/Hop sounds, “Von D” is still definitely a British-made record. In the track, Lilli’s smooth voice croons to a jazzy melody, while a trap beat and Ryo’s verse flow coolly underneath. The blend of sounds, combined with the uplifting visuals, make for a really interesting video. Check it out, below:
