The multi-talented Barbados bred Rihanna is adding another big achievement to her repertoire. The Pop and R&B act, fresh off her project ANTI, is receiving the “Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award,” the highest honor at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

This award reflects off her “decade-long impact on music, pop-culture, fashion, film and philanthropy.” Rihanna showed her appreciation on her social media accounts today and on MTV as well. She will be joining iconic Vanguard recipients such as Madonna, Beasty Boys, Britney Spears, Beyoncé, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake.

She has given the world some pretty impressive visuals, such as the creepy “Disturbia,” the aggressive “B*tch Better have my Money,” and the toxic love ballad in “We Found Love” with Calvin Harris.

RiRi is also up for four other awards at the show. She has two nominations for “Work” and two for “This is What You Came Here For” with Harris. She will also perform live at the ceremony.

Rihanna is a two-time VMA “Video of the Year” winner and the youngest solo artist to have 14 No. 1 singles on Billboard Hot 100s.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Award are live from Madison Square Garden on Sunday, August 28 at 9PM.

Miley Cyrus and Big Sean are not strangers to collaborations. In the past, the two have worked together on Miley’s Bangers album along with visuals for Sean. Last night, Miley hosted the 2015 MTV VMA‘s. In her free-spirited ways, her outfits and performances brought some interesting thoughts to viewers. To close out the event, she performed a new track and announced a new album titled, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. On the new album,is a song called, “Tangerine,” featuring Big Sean, and it rides out pretty smoothly. The production sets off a mellow vibe and Big Sean keeps that in mind. Both Miley and Sean flow the psychedelic feel to the track the entire time. It’s for the listener to figure out if it’s dope or not. Check it out below and enjoy.

With a freshly released album, it looks like Abel is having a pretty good week so far. During this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, artist The Weeknd took over the show with a performance of his highly popular summer hit, “Can’t Feel My Face.” Utilizing dark lighting per usual, the singer brought viewers into his world, while offering up a ring of fire as the main source of illumination as he danced in the middle of it. You have to respect the craft of a man that can get even Kanye out of his stoicalness.

Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky hit the 2015 MTV VMA stage in an semi-unexpected way. Joining up with self-proclaimed schizoid pop duo Twenty One Pilots, the experimental artist jammed out in a mashup session to bring out the best in both performers. Switching off from verse-to-verse, viewing audiences got a chance to witness an exchange of mutual respect and vibes.

When MTV chose rapper Kanye West to receive the Video Vanguard award at this year’s Video Music Awards, they had to have known they were in for some mess. After all, who doesn’t know Yeezus will turn the show left if you give him a mic to just talk? From shading MTV for utilizing Taylor Swift to present him the award as a way to get more ratings to telling a story of Justin Timberlake crying, the artist did just that. To top it all off, Kanye closed out his rant speech with an extremely random (and not so obvious as he assumed) announcement of his plans to run for president in 2020. Whether Ye was serious or not is unsure, but perhaps we’ll know for sure in 2020.
