Birdd Luciano, after speaking on feeding his fanbase during quarantine, is back with another summer hit with the “Top Shottas remix” featuring VH1 Love & Hip Hop Miami Rapper Hood Brat.

“Top Shottas” is a stand out track from his ‘Ghetto Blessings’ project. Birdd pairs a great melodic flow to match the aquatic and dance reggae vibe the instrumental radiates creating a high energy island-inspired sensation with a Chicago edge. VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Cast Member & Miami rapper Hood Brat comes through with a serious, clear cut voice and fun wordplay. She adds a diverse flair with her delivery which blends with Bird’s style. Luciano continues to prove he is an artist to watch in the industry and is working non stop on forming his on path.

Originally scheduled to perform this at Rolling Loud in Miami in May 2020, Birdd and Hood Brat will be taking the stage in 2021 to perform the new single along with a video coming soon.

Vh1, BET, and MTV, came up with one of the most entertaining IGTV shows during the drought. The CEO of R & D Entertainment Agency figured out a way to still create content for major celebrities.

Viacom which includes VH1 and BET are closed and the staff are not working due to the pandemic. So as a result, Rocky came up with a way to keep the brand, “VH1” alive.

Rockys World covers all spectrums of the guests on his show. Topics include their upbringing, current status, accomplishments and even what the people want to know, which is of course, “The Gossip.” His last season’s viewership reached an unexpected number of 15,000!

” I just wanted to interview three of my clients, but after premiering the show the fan base went from 0 to 100 real quick! The requests to be on the show was incredible”

Rocky also says, season 2 will be even bigger. His long list of guests from season one consisted of Amara La Negra, Jordan Awoye, Farrah Abraham, Belaire, Sigdatrig, Masika, Priscilla, Super Cindy, Marco, CeCe Pensiton and more. The sponsorship team were Azia from BET’s hit show ‘Hustle In Brooklyn’vegan company BCBA, Glamsensedivas.com and Ezekiel Ajibe Model/Actor known from ‘Bigger’ on BET.

As he gears up for season 2, VH1’s Marketing Director, Amira says “Rockys World Live” is pure entertainment, Tune in!! series 2 is going to be bigger and better and more explosive. The fans of the show will be super excited.”

I personally did a 7 day trial with Philo and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed watching BET since I cut the cord. Catching up on old  childhood favorites like “Fresh Prince” “Martin”and “The Parkers”  this streaming experience while!

This year saw VH1 continues their tradition of paying homage to the pillars of Hip Hop music and culture via their annual Honors celebration. This go ’round, Jermaine Dupri, Master P, Hype Williams, Martin Lawrence and a hilarious Mariah Carey were the honorees of the night, with additional performances from a slew of their peers — including Ty Dolla $ign, Trina, Trick Daddy, Havoc, Lil’ Kim, Fabolous, Da Brat, The LOX, Ma$e, Fat Joe, Remy Ma and Missy Elliott (the latter of whom gave a killer performance above).

She offers no apologies for her sexuality, but with a new television show, is Amber Rose taking full advantage of her newfound forum?

Early this summer, when the Amber Rose Show was announced, dedicated Rosebuds (as she affectionately calls her fans) and critics alike knew they’d have tons of new material to either love or loathe. Since premiering July 8th, Amber Rose, has been as likable as she’s been controversial, but has she been substantive?

On a July 29th episode, she recalled asking her ex-husband and father to her three-year old son,Wiz Khalifa, to go half on a second child,

You know that we have Sebastian together and I really, really want another baby, so I asked him for his sperm like I always do every time I’m around him…but instead he put his babies on my face, thanks Wiz!

Of course, people laughed or gasped and she later addressed the fact that ultimately, people had more of a problem that she may have enjoyed the aforementioned act than whether or not Khalifa ejaculated.

Equality for women–especially in the media–is a cause near and dear to  Rose’s heart. She’s created her own version of the feminist staple event “SlutWalk,” (calling it the “Amber Rose Awareness Festival”) she’s quick to shut down any critique of her dating life, the pictures she takes or her views on women being sexually equal to their male counterparts. While this is all commendable, some may take issue with her actions as a host.

I’m not asking Ye’s infamous ex to be the next Gloria Steinem, infiltrating the world of hip-hop to expose misogyny the way Steinem turned the Playboy franchise on it’s head in the ’60s by becoming a bunny and writing scathing exposes. No. However, Rose simply saying something remotely empowering (mostly scripted) without her authentic narrative behind it or a probing dialogue with her guests? That’s as close as we get to a genuine discussion and I fully believe she’s capable of more.

She has tastemakers, trendsetters and the people who have the attention of our youth, during their formative years on her show. She can try asking French Montana what he really thinks of the “SlutWalk.” Have  O.T. Genasis explain why he came for a young African American woman’s hair on TV. Question Nick Cannon on the hypocrisy surrounding women he’s dated like Kim K. and Christina Milian. She’s this close to being able to touch upon something no one has before, something beyond frank sex talk and closer to frank talks about our sexuality, gender and race without shock value being the payoff.

Like her or not, she’s worked hard to own her own sexuality and she has a gift of asking people jarring questions while remaining endearing. What if she used these cunning powers for good and held these men to the fire? And No, I don’t want these artists to be crucified for the lyrics I love! I just want there to be some healthy discussion instead of using our sexuality as a punchline.

Rosebuds, don’t come after me! I still love me some Muva.

In Jan VH1 premiered the TV movie (which served as a pilot) based on the book “The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop” by Dan Charnas. The premise of the book documents the rise of the genre as a writer for The Source Magazine, and former record executive.

Starring Wood Harris, Mack Wilds, and Afton Williamson The Breaks is set in the summer of 1990. Chronicling the journey of Nikki and her friends David & DeeVee. The three friends are all navigating their way through the same industry seeking different avenues, but bonded by their love for Hip-Hop.  Dj Premeir served as the projects executive music producer, while scoring and composing for the movie.

The Hip-Hop series just earned its first season from their highly rated test run. “The Breaks” ranked No. 2 for a cable original movie with the combined 2.6 million viewers from its premiere and encore. No set date or episode number has been given yet, but you can expect VH1 to put this on the fast track.

Based on journalist Dan Charnas’ book The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop, VH1‘s original movie The Breaks will depict the early days of hip hop industry in NYC in the 90s. Featuring such actors as Tristan Mack Wilds, Method Man, and Wood Harris, familiar faces are sure to help pull the story together and bring in viewership. The Breaks will air January 4 on VH1.
