For the most part, Hip-Hop is currently being taken over by the likes of Future, Drake and Young Thug. Listeners have become more inclined to unintelligible turn up anthems than songs with lyricism and substance. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is what it is. Music is evolving.

However, those who appreciate the Kendrick Lamar’s and J. Cole’s of today’s Hip-Hop might find Detroit’s Adam Reverie to be quite refreshing.

Adam’s latest offering is called “Untitled”, which he calls ironic, due to the multitude of topics the song shines light on. From calling out media outlets for exploiting young black men, to speaking on rappers enabling the use of the N-Word by their white fans, Adam pulls no punches on this Ace Boogie-produced record.

If you’re okay with turning off the Trap Rap for a second, you definitely want to give this one a spin.

Back in December, Kendrick Lamar was a guest on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report and during his time there, he debuted a brand new song that featured Terrace Martin, Bilal, Anna Wise, and Thundercat. Many speculated the song would appear on To Pimp A Butterfly, but we now know (thanks to Martin) that was never the case.

According to Terrace Martin, who recently spoke to Complex, the song served more of a promotional purpose, as it was “just a moment” and “don’t even exist nowhere in the world.”

If you got to see the performance, consider yourself lucky. If you missed it, however, catch it below.

2015 has been an amazing year for hip-hop, and the year has only just begun. From Yeezy Boosts to Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and all of the hype that surrounded it, hip-hop aficionados have been overwhelmed with the amount of hip-hop news and music released in less than three months.

Just when it seemed like things were slowing down, Kendrick Lamar hit fans worldwide with a short and sweet link on Friday afternoon, posted via his Twitter account. Keeping it short and sweet, Kendrick’s link opens up to the iTunes Store, revealing that his highly anticipated album is set to release March 23.

The new album is called Untitled and for now, fifteen of the sixteen track names remain a secret. Be on the look out for more music to come from Lamar in the coming weeks, and listen to “The Blacker the Berry” below, the first single off of Untitled.

Last night, the “leader of West Coast rap” made an appearance on the final episode of The Colbert Report—Kendrick Lamar was the last musical guest to ever appear on the show. For the occasion, Lamar decided to premiere some new music, a track called “Untitled”.

In the wake of “i”, which received mixed reviews from fans (some love his fun, lighthearted style and others seek his harder-hitting street rapping), “Untitled” shows a different side of Lamar’s new style while also a return to some more familiar lyricism. The track is boisterous. At the build of each verse, Lamar descends into an insanity-inducing cacophony, which crescendos at the hook before returning again to cooler, slower rhymes.

The whole picture of the project is slowly coming together. Do you like what you hear so far? Watch the performance below and let us know:
