Hosted by Joel McHale at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the 43rd Annual People’s Choice Awards turned out to be an epic night of sorts for some of Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars. Ellen Degeneres made history Wednesday night when she was nominated for three awards including favorite talk-show host, favorite animated voice for Finding Dory and favorite comedic collaboration with Britney Spears for their “Mall Mischief” segment and won in all three categories. To date, Degeneres has accepted a total of 20 People Choice Awards; the most of any celebrity. She later took to twitter to tweet her gratitude of thanks.

Other winner of the night included: Kevin Hart for favorite comedic actor, Johnny Depp who accepted an award for favorite movie icon, Tyler Perry whom accepted an award for favorite humanitarian, in which he reminded the audience of the importance of helping others. Fifth Harmony may be one girl down but that didn’t slow the group down from putting on a show stopping performance on Wednesday night, the group performed their single “Work from Home” and also nabbed the favorite group award again for the second year in a row. Say what you want about Tyler Perry, but the one thing you won’t be able to say about him is that he’s “cheap” “heartless” or has “forgotten” his humble beginnings and where he came from. As long as I’ve known and/or followed Tyler Perry he’s always been a very giving, and might I say generous, person to individuals and the community. From helping out the Katrina Victims in 2008, to helping the homeless, to paying off a woman’s mortgage and buying houses for deserving individuals. And how can we forget the time he put in the help for Bobbi Kristina, daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, by adding her into his show For Better or Worse and even paying for her funeral expenses during her untimely death. Perry, has always been involved with not only giving of himself but opening his pockets wide and giving of his funds.

So, it was no surprise to hear that he was now yet again, opening his huge heart and wallet for a local Georgia mother who lost her 15 month old twin girls. According to GMA, Perry extended an offer to pay for the funeral expenses of the twins who both died last week when they were left behind in a hot car by their father in Carrollton, Georgia. Ariel and Alaynah North passed away on August 4th. Their father has since been arrested and charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter along with two counts of reckless conduct. Per the ABC NEWS affiliate, noticing that he had left his daughters in their car seat in the extremely hot 90 degree weather at the time, Asa North pulled both girls from the hot car and ran screaming and yelling (according to neighbors) to the back of their apartment building and got into the pool with the young girls, attempting to cool them off with the water. But it was too late; the girls were pronounced dead at a nearby medical center in Carrollton.

The mother, Breal Ellis was visiting her ill sister at the time of the incident:

“I was with them every day and the one day I left…I just want to tell them I’m sorry, “They didn’t deserve to die like that or to die, period, but I know they’re in heaven.” she told WSB-TV through tears.

Ellis told the local news station that she had planned to bury the girls but didn’t have the money to pay for the funeral. When Tyler Perry caught wind of the incident, he reached out to offer to pay for the girls’ funeral expenses, though no word has been received as of yet if Ellis will accept the offer. A GoFundMe Page has been set up for the family to raise $10,000 for the expenses of the funeral; as of today $22,100 has been collected on their behalf.

‘T.M.N.T’ Movie Trailer Released [WATCH]

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ( T.M.N.T) is back! T.M.N.T released their trailer this week.  Okay, 90’s babies rejoice! This is a classic child hood memory. The turtles are pretty awesome. It was a popular television show that was a live action cartoon for many years. Remember coming home from school and anticipating a new episode? Remember ordering pizza and thinking about the mutant turtles? Remember wanting to be April Oneal, just so you could hang out with the turtles and learn karate and stuff? It brings back old childhood memories. There are so many things to look forward to with this franchise.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is the upcoming new,nostalgia film to come from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. It will be directed by Dave Green. It is also written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemac. It is based off of the popular cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It is intended to be the sequel  based off the movie released in 2014. It stars Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, Brian Tee, Tyler Perry, and William Fichtner. The film began shooting in April of last year in New York City. This movie will be released in theaters on June 3, 2016.  It can be seen in I max.

In this installment, the mutants get into problems with scientist, Dr. Stockman. Shredder, eventually hires Stockman to make his own mutants to defeat the turtles. Meanwhile, an invasion on New York City  happens. The turtles have to think fast and save humanity, as always. Splinter helps them in their quest to fight evil doers. April O’Neil, Vern Fenwick, and  Casey Jones joins them in their fight. There are a lot of athlete cameos in this movie. Carmelo Anthony, DeAndre Jordan, J. J. Redick, and Matt Barnes will star in this film. Check out the trailer below.
