Utica, NY’s Trizzy has been consistently releasing music for a long while now. We recently had a conversation with him about his come up, his company Ruby Recordings, and what he has on the way. Check out the interview below!

RESPECT.: How did you get your start doing music?

I’ve been into music since I was 5 but when I got kicked out of middle school in 6th grade, that’s when I started to dedicate myself to music. Being stuck in the house on punishment for months, I used to bang on the walls and tables in my home for beats and just freestyle words that came to my head. The year before, for Christmas, my dad brought me a mini stereo and we had an old tape player with two sides, so I used to put the stereo on one side and I would rap on the other and record it on tape.

RESPECT.: Do you remember your first recording session? What was it like.

Yes, my first official recording session was in 2015. I had so much pain bottled in, I couldn’t hold it in anymore. After recording how I felt on the microphone, it was a relief. Expressing myself was one thing I never did, I always kept how I felt inside. Now, I’m very comfortable with telling someone how I feel or what I been through and not care what they think about me. That day changed my life!

RESPECT.: Who would you want to hop on one of your tracks and why?

I would want 50 cent to get on one of my songs, because he’s the true definition of an artist. I’ve learned a lot from him. I grew up listening to his music and watching his moves and still he impresses me. I know if he worked with me, it’s a home run every time.

RESPECT.: What is a favorite track of yours?

One of my favorite tracks is many men by 50 cent. I listen to that song a lot. It will never get old like a lot of his music.

RESPECT.: What is the best part about being an artist?

The supporters. I used to never wanna be the artist because I didn’t wanna be in the spot light. They’re the reason I started. I used to just make beats as Trizzy Beats, and make fake songs to them and upload them and the reactions was unbelievable. Now, I’m doing shows, working with company’s as a brand ambassador, my record label Ruby Recordings is expanding more and it’s just amazing.

RESPECT.: What is your relationship with Tone Marino?

That’s my lil bro, I’ve been working with him for over a year now. We help each other grow. He was the first teenager I worked with. He’s such an amazing artist and I advise everyone to get hip before it’s too late.

RESPECT.: How did you become affiliated with Ruby Recordings? What is it?

I am the CEO of Ruby Recordings. We’re an independent record label and management company. Our mission is to provide a platform for aspiring artists to grow organically, in an atmosphere that is equipped with the latest technology and resources.

RESPECT.: How have you grown in music this year so far?

I’ve grown a lot, I went from standing on the side of the stage during other artists performances to being on the stage for my own performances in 365 days. This year, I’ve performed at The Legendary SOB’s with Tonee and had front row cameo in his new music video “Juice” which gained over 100,000 views in 1 week, got to perform with Michael Wavves on his summer tour. Now, I’m doing my own shows, started my own vlog, featured on numerous songs and worked with many dope artists and producers. I went from working in home studios to professional studios this year. People are starting to notice me, and it’s such a great feeling.

RESPECT.: What do you have on the way?

I have a lot of music recorded and music videos done. I’m just putting together a plan. I will be releasing my new single “I Am The U” in the fall. Just waiting to get it back from the engineer and I’m just going to drop the video. I haven’t released my own song yet this year so I want it to be special for my supporters.
