While we await Wale‘s new album, SHiNE, the grammy-nominated musician treated his New York City crowd to a taste of his Travi$ Scott collaboration. On Sunday night, Wale performed “Fish and Grits” to a rowdy crowd.

The D.C rapper’s relaxed crooning and contagious smile has given him a happy-go-lucky reputation. This contrasts against Travi$ Scott, who’s recent hit “Antidote” throws him in with the likes of Young Thug and Future — a darker genre of rap.

Wale’s recent single “MY P.Y.T” has Caribbean vibes, and contains the perfect recipe for a summer hit. The 2011 song “Lotus Flower Bomb” featuring Miguel shows that he dabbles in the funkier side of hip-hop.

Wale was buzzing at the concert where he premiered his new track, “I said not only am I gonna mosh, I’m gonna play you some sh*t that never been heard yet,” he said, “So we about to take this sh*t to the rodeo real quick.” 

While the rappers’ bouncing and jumping on stage might have looked something like a hip-hop rodeo, Wale also made a reference to Travi$ Scott’s 2015 Rodeo debut album.

Adding the literal grit of Travi$ Scott to “Fish and Grits” bodes well for a complimentary collaboration. Watch this space for more new music, as SHiNE will be released later this year.

Kanye West, Travi$ Scott, and Alicia Keys have a lot “In Common” as they remixed Keys’ latest single.

The amazing new track features Yeezy effortlessly flowing over the beat as he makes pop culture references that everyone still mentions, including Birdman’s now infamous Breakfast Club rant.

“Folks all up in our business/ Yeezy Season, I’m trendin’ / I bet you they respek the name now / So are we done or we finished?”

West also pokes a jab at the “FamousGate” Taylor Swift debacle as he rapped, “we been through sh-t we can’t make up/ And at the end of the night, babe, we’ll be back in bed like we famous.”

Alicia Keys dropped a hint via Twitter on Friday that something was brewing between her and Travis Scott by saying, “Congrats to @trvisxx!! 1st show on @Beats1!! Tune in…maybe he has a Lil surprise for y’all ;-)”

Travis Scott used his .wav radio show to reveal the guest features on his sophomore effort Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, which includes appearances by Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Kendrick Lamar.

Travis is excited about the new body of work he’s preparing to drop on us “any day now” and doesn’t think the album will go without multiple hit songs.

It’s a lot of good songs. See that was my thing, I just wanted it to be a lot of good songs and no fillers. So with this thing, it’s like mad tracks and good songs.

Travis also spoke on having an exciting feature on the album. It was presumed that the feature was Kid Cudi, but he said that it was someone else. “My next single has like one of the illest rappers of all time on that s**t.” After that, Whoo Kid leaned the conversation to Jay Z, asking about what Hov is currently working on. Scott was reluctant to speak on the Jay’s current studio endeavors, but does say he’s working on new material.

As for Travis’ new album, it’s coming “any day now,” meaning we could possibly see it this Friday or next.

Yesterday Major Lazer, the EDM supergroup including Dip Lo, Jillionaire, and Walshy Fire released a new video to their song “Night Riders” which includes artists Travi$ Scott, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, & Mad Cobra. The video includes girls dancing and boxing, neon lights, fast cars, and not to mention Travi$ Scott. Travi$ Scott is shown as the main character of the video as he smokes his cigarette in the night air on what seems to be a rooftop in a big city. So bad ass. The rest of the video includes promiscuous dancers in bright and flashy bikinis. Its interesting to watch what seems to be a culture clash come out so smoothly.

The hook is an immediate call to the theme of the video which Travi$ Scott embellishes with his unique sound by stating, “You need to know that I’m a rider, Tonight were gonna set the streets on fire, all i need is the gas and the lighter, and were gonna have one hell of time.”

Night Riders was originally released a little over a year ago in anticipation of their album Peace is the Mission. Now their song’s new visual expresses the view they want their audience to portray and reach even further into other genre’s such as Rap and Hip-Hop.

Other songs that were released around the same time include “Wave”, “Thunder & Lightning”, “Blaze up the Fire”, and “Boom” and also have a similar vibe to “Night Rider”.

We are all looking forward to the trio releasing more music and albums in the future, but in the mean time check out the new video for yourself. You will be more than entertained!

Foxtail Fest is one of our favorite festivals to attend and has been since they started a few years back. The festival–held at Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia–is taking place this year on May 14th and of course, the line-up is awesome!

Foxtail has been known for bringing up and coming artists to their shows and back in 2014 they brought out SZA, A$AP Nast, A$AP Ant and Lil Uzi Vert. In 2013, the stage was graced by Machine Gun Kelly, Travi$ Scott and DJ Sliink. Well, this year is following up with a line-up that includes Curren$y, Brainrack, Evan Riley, Anyee Wright and more. Yes, we agree, this is totally worth the ticket!

Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased here. And the good thing about these tickets, they aren’t $100-$200 like the rest of the festivals out there. Good price. Good line-up. Good city. What more could you ask for?

Apparently, the rumors were true. At some point, Yeezy, Miley and Travi$ Scott came together and created what is the previously unreleased remix of the anarchic record; and it’s a banger. Kanye’s verses are relatively unchanged, Miley channels her inner Tears for Fears, and of course La Flame provides his undeniable ad-libs.

We’re pretty sure Kanye didn’t leak this one himself, so enjoy it while you can!
