Hip-Hop and Horror tales have always had a strange relationship. Rappers like Ghostface Killah and MF Doom play to the creepy vibes by often wearing intimidating masks, while artists like Three 6 Mafia built a whole genre centered around them– Horrorcore. Looking to keep up the tradition of sinister spitters look to be Las Vegas duo Black Bag Brothers, specifically with their new video for “Intro“.

Comprised of Sin City natives, Rob Falco and Trade Voorhees — no relation to Jason — the duo spits eerie rhymes over a booming beat while smoking blunts and tenderizing meat — not sure how sanitary that might be. But the trick is… The meat might belong to humans considering the disturbing surroundings that can only be understood by visuals. Not sure if the video or the bars are more appealing, see for yourself.

Check out the innovative new video below and be on the look out for the Black Bag Brothers EP, which is yet to receive a release date.

Nostalgia sells. For understandable reasons, consumers in all markets have always been keen to being taken back in the media time machine, especially in music. With All Due RESPECT. alum Trade Voorhees demonstrates a strong understanding of this concept in the visuals for his single, “Back“.

Featuring TV rolling around parts of Las Vegas that only natives could possibly recognize — Bengal alum, I can’t ride with you “Warriors” — “Back” is an ode to the good times as well as a toast to the struggles. “Back in the days/ when we had nothing/ in two bedrooms/ and my mama was struggling” raps Voorhees over the smooth self produced track.

The single is off of Voorhees’ upcoming project, P.S. 1999 EP, which is set to be released September 9th. Check out the video below.

What a week in hip-hop it’s been! We got to see Gucci Mane bask in the glory of freedom at his “Homecoming” show, we got to hear a FIRE new track from Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean and let’s not forget finding out that Nas‘ album is finished… Shoutout DJ Khaled for the key. But nothing dominated the rapsphere quite like the petty feud between Drake and his off and on buddy Joe Budden. At this point, Joey has hit The Boy with about 60 diss songs while Drizzy has responded only with a couple uninspired lines about Joe being a one hit wonder. Then of course there was Joe getting ambushed by some fans at his house which followed in him issuing death threats to the kids. No seriously, he really did that check it out. With all that wonderful tomfoolery occurring, I’m pretty sure you missed out on some dope tracks that are bubbling in the pipelines. Don’t even trip, we got ya covered. Check out this weeks version of With All Due RESPECT.: 5 Songs You’ve Been Sleeping On below!

Black Bag Brothers – “Fritz”

Consisting of Las Vegas local juggernauts Trade Voorhees and Rob Falco, the Black Bag Brothers creep into the list with the dark but informative track, “Fritz“. “Regurgitating lines/ Yeah it’s fine but like save it hoe” raps Voorhees over wavy synths and relaxing cymbals. The track gives off an eerie vibe, while conveying a tale of two partners who are beginning to find themselves in the often deep waters that is the ocean of the music industry. Featuring top notch lyricism from both artists, “Fritz” is the perfect track to throw on while you light one up and ponder the intricacies in life… See, the lyricism has rubbed off into my writing with words like “intricacies”… Don’t miss out on the dynamic duo, check out the track below.

Profane – “No Return”

Keeping it in the City of Sin, we check out the man who is the definition of slept on in Hispanic torch bearer Profane and his track, “No Return“. Produced by Profound, the track is a lyrical assault on whack rappers and posers. Lines such as: “There’s no surviving for the whack and the weak/ I’m underground in the trenches where I’m happy to be” give you an idea of the overall vibe of the song, while bars like: “Peeps asking who the best and does he need ammo?/ Like an instrument with keys, the answers P and No (Piano)” show off his wavy wordplay abilities. Profane has been heating up in the west coast scene for a while, but has had trouble breaking out of the “Hispanic Rapper” category that has plagued artists such as Bodega Bamz over the years. With tracks like this one, he won’t be slept on for much longer. Check it out below.

Trill Soulutionary – “Whatchamacallit”

From the absolute jump, Little Rock native Trill Soulutionary kills this inspiring track produced by Buddy Freeman. Utilizing a childhood favorite phrase, Trill flexes his lyrical chops with lines like, “Things aren’t as they was but I change as change does/ and it’s all cause I was born to make change cuz” while flowing over soothing pianos keys and a consistent drum break. The track, which is off his project, SupaDupaFrizzle and is a groovy track that you don’t want to sleep on for much longer. Check out the track below and be sure to give a listen to Trill’s tape, SupaDupaFizzle.

ShaqIsDope – “Innocent Youth”

At this point, it’s not even fair. Toronto has been taking a strong choke hold over the rap game for a minute now with artists like Drake, The Weeknd, Jazz Cartier and plenty more making waves in the states. Well it looks like they’ll be running up the score as they have another one — Khaled voice — with 6 native ShaqIsDope. Specifically the track, “Innocent Youth” which is off of his fantastic new project Black Frames. Utilizing clever wordplay, original flow structures, and a surprising on key singing voice, “Innocent Youth” takes you on a journey through the mental of Shaq while refreshing you with soothing hymns in the chorus. Shaq has been buzzing lately and fortunately, we decided to stop sleeping. You should too. Check out the Toronto native’s track below and be sure to give a listen to Black Frames, out now.

GABRL – “Too Much Left”

I know, I know, I know — Mick Jenkins voice — this whole list has been full of lyrical prophets and thought provoking jams. At this point, you must be thinking, “Where are the bangers?” Well enter in Broward County native GABRL and his BANGING new track, “Too Much Left“. Produced by Tyshane & 8X8, “Too Much Left” is a hyphy track from the Florida native that features him showing off his high pitched flow over hard hitting synths and 808’s. Mark my words, you’ll be hearing this song EVERYWHERE soon. Check out the thumping track below and be sure to keep your eyes and ears on the Florida native who’s sure to blow.

I, Young ‘Vito, voice of the young people/ Mouthpiece for hustlers I’m back motherf**kers

–Jay-Z

We’re baaaaaaaack! Although a Jigga track these days could never be slept on, what way to better start the segment than by quoting the goat? Don’t worry I’ll wait… Okay exactly. This week we’re back with With All Due RESPECT.: 5 Songs You’ve Been Sleeping On and this one might be the best yet. Featuring rising artists from all over the country like Alex Wiley and Trade Voorhees, this weeks segment focuses on diversity. Check out the 5 tracks below and let us know what you think in the comment section!

Alex Wiley – “Untitled 3”

Coming in off his recently released project, Tangerine Dreams, Chicago native Alex Wiley delivers straight heat with the track, “Untitled 3“. Going in over a 3 minute track produced by The Burnin Giraph, Wiley delivers mind numbing bars like, “Matter fact let me lead you/ Matter fact I don’t need to/ I would only mislead you” that make you ponder over those maybe not so smart decisions you might of made over the weekend (we’re talking to you JR Smith). Okay just joking, I just wanted a reason to include that fantastic video. Check out the track and be sure to give a listen to Wiley’s Tangerine Dreams.

Todd Zack Jr. – “nextlevel.”

Throughout the past year I’ve heard rumblings and rumors of a rising new singer from the Midwest named Todd Zack Jr. The chitter chatter did not disappoint. The 25-year-old Ohio native combines his strong songwriting prowess with melodic falsettos. No where is this more apparent than on “nextlevel.” which is a sensual ode to the ladies off of his recently released project betterwithtime. With an infectious beat produced by Ke Yano$ and a hook that will surely get the ladies feeling warm, “nextlevel.” is the perfect soundtrack to a night in with that special someone…. or that special someone for the night. With less than 3 thousands plays under it’s belt, be sure to hop on the bandwagon now before the seats are occupied. Check out the track below and stream the project betterwithtime. here.

RaH – “Favor”

Keeping it in the R&B lane, the next track comes from Detroit singer RaH who absolutely kills it with the single, “Favor“. Combining his soft voice and raw — pun intended — vocals with his ability to command the track with simple adlibs like, “Bout to kill it right now”, RaH delivers a summer banger for the ladies. RaH also pays homage to R&B legend R. Kelly with the “Your body’s calling me” references throughout the hook. RaH definitely has next. Check out the track below.

Malik Burgers – “Thunder”

Known for his trap flow and his highly energetic verses with his 1207 crew, San Diego rep Malik Burgers slows it down a bit for the self reflective “Thunder“. The track features Burgers spitting perspective bars such as “Off that acid when I ask him why my dreams are getting closer/told me don’t run from the heat/ when the world is getting colder, it’s just a part of getting older” over a perfectly placed Erykah Badu sample. The mellowed out track is definitely a different route for the young artist, but one that shows promise and with his 1207 brother Rob $tone getting the RCA Records nod recently, the sky is the limit for Burgers. Check out the track below.

Trade Voorhees – “Back”

The pure definition of being “slept on”, Las Vegas native Trade Voorhees has been releasing nothing but heat for years at this point. “Back” is no different, a single of his upcoming EP, PS. 1995. A reflective track about his journey from snotty tott to Vegas’ favorite son, Voorhees showcases his lyrical chops with bars such as, “What’s his naaaame?/ Call me confucious/ that bullsh** you sayin it confuses.” Anybody with love for their hometown and family will be able to relate to this banger from Voorhees. Be sure to check out the track below, and be on the look out for PS. 1995, which is slated to be released this fall.
