TOPE Returns With New Track “Again & Again”

Portland Producer and Rapper TOPE shares newest release “Again & Again” now available on all digital streaming platforms. A new sound, an ultra-fresh vibe but that same classic TOPE is apparent on his latest release. Updating us on his life, the grind, and the ladies occupying his time TOPE takes us straight to a summer day in California on “Again & Again.” Only marking his second non-sample production credit TOPE has stepped away from his style of chopping up Soul records ala J-Dilla and Madlib to playing smooth chords and wildly funky basslines. “Again & Again” is written, recorded, produced, and co-mixed by TOPE himself sharing mixing credits with Neill Von Tally of Eyrst Music. With over 10 years in the game, TOPE felt it was only right to challenge himself and reinvent his sound which will be heard all over his new album set to release in 2020. Oakland’s TOPE Returns With New Single “No Lie”

Oakland based Producer and Rapper TOPE releases his first single of 2019 connecting with San Diego’s Jimmy Javier. Something smooth to ride to in the night time, TOPE questions the loyalty and commitment of a past lover on “No Lie.” TOPE has been one of underground hip hop’s best-kept secrets for sometime recently producing for Slum Village, Skyzoo, Gift Of Gab of Blackalicious, Blu, Abstract Rude, and more TOPE also received co-signs from soul music icons Erykah Badu and Cody Chesnutt for his early releases. After a relocation from Portland, Oregon to Oakland things have been a little quieter than normal for TOPE on the music front as he has taken some time away to start his own creative company FVRTHERMORE, produce an album for up and coming R&B artist Scooty, and more. TOPE Visits Las Vegas For “Never Told You” Video

West Coast Producer and Rapper TOPE travels to Las Vegas to film the Official Music Video for his new single “Never Told You.” After the successful release for his gospel-influenced single Faithful, featuring underground legends Blu and Abstract Rude, TOPE digs deeper into his stash of unreleased music to drop the inspiring and emotional anthem “Never Told You.” Playing every instrument including Piano, Bass, Drums, and Synthesizers on Reason 10, TOPE’s latest single marks his first non-sampled production to date, showing the growth in not only him as a person but also as a Producer.

After moving from Portland to The Bay, then to LA and back to The Bay, TOPE had all of his music stolen from a laptop at a concert in San Francisco and almost consider walking away from releasing music in early 2017. The words “I never told ’bout the time I almost gave up on myself” repeat heavily as TOPE explains how he was defeated but still made a persevered through the hard times. Back to work this year, TOPE recently returned from playing live shows with Self Jupiter of Freestyle Fellowship and Blu, as well as producing for New York City legend Skyzoo.

TOPE Drops “Never Told You” [Stream]

TOPE drops off his new self-produced single “Never Told You.” The single is his first non-sample track all music played by him and is the follow up to his single “Faithful” with Blu and Abstract Rude.

In the track, TOPE switches lanes on “Never Told You” recounting some of the tribulations of having his entire music library stolen at a show in San Francisco in 2017. Pressing re-start on his once buzzing career, TOPE moved to Oakland from his hometown Portland, OR and soon after had his laptop and other personal items swiped at a show, leaving the up and coming Producer with no backups of all the music he had created in the last 4 years – including demos versions of all TOPE’s new self-produced singles.

“Never Told You” marks a growth not only TOPE’s mind state but also his production, marking the first sample-free beat TOPE has released and rhymed over. Stream it below!

TOPE Links With Blu & Abstract Rude for “FAITHFUL”

Portland/Oakland’s very own TOPE is taking his music to a new level. He returns with a huge first single of 2018 entitled “FAITHFUL” featuring Rap Legends Blu and Abstract Rude.

As you already know, TOPE is no stranger to beat making. The track is produced by TOPE himself! “FAITHFUL” is a soulful and gospel-inspired banger that finds all three MCs giving their own spin to the definition of the word. “FAITHFUL” marks the second collaboration for TOPE with Abstract Rude and Blu respectively. 2011 found TOPE’s debut group Living Proof going “Full Speed” and in 2014 Blu and TOPE collaborated on the now classic “Let It Go.”

Premiered by 2DOPEBOYZ, the new record is TOPE’s first official release since his EP SOME THINGS GOTTA CHANGE and first self-produced song since having his entire music library being stolen in San Francisco. Oakland, California’s TOPE finally delivers his highly anticipated new EP Some Things Gotta Change.

Rising hip-hop producer and rapper TOPE is one of the biggest up and coming artists to come out of the northwest. If you aren’t familiar with the soaring talent he is considered as a top artist to watch in his hometown. Since TOPE made his big debut on his album Broke Boy Syndrome back in 2010, he has generated a buzz for himself in the music world.
