After previously rolling with Bun B and Trae The Truth on the bass heavy “H Town,” Dizzee Rascal returns with a new track deconstructing hip hop’s favourite topic: sex. The Brit MC provides some high-energy verses on, “I Don’t Need A Reason,” narrating his relentless preoccupation with getting it in. Producer Jean Baptiste foils the rapper’s rhymes with a simple, yet syncopated thumping beat. This track will be featured on Dizzee’s hotly-anticipated forthcoming album, The Fifth, which also features cuts from Jessie J, will.i.am, Tinie Tempah and Sean Kingston. 2010 was the year that Tinie Tempah broke through to mainstream popularity in the UK and US with his ground-breaking single, “Pass Out”. Now, the rapper is back with a long-awaited follow-up, “Trampoline”, featuring 2 Chainz. Once again, Diplo kills it on the production tip, cooking up a monstrous, bouncing beat driven by Tinie’s energetic flow. “I didn’t want to over-think the first single too much but I knew it had to be a transition between the first and the second album. I describe it as being like a climax,” says the South Londoner. Georgia rapper 2 Chainz handles guest duties on the calypso, trap and dance influenced club-ready jam, declaring, “Too much money in my pocket so my pants might be sagging.” Atop the jumping production, the two MC’s keep the track charismatic, spitting some larger-than-life bars. UK music stars Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah spent some time together to cook up this rendition of an Active Child song by the same name. Goulding tweeted the release of the song calling it “the beginning of my new journey.” Stream below.

Yes, the comparisons to Rihanna are visible are ultimately inevitable. Let’s just get that out the way.

The newest signee to Roc Nation has had her name mentioned here and there, but this song brings her to the forefront. Rita Ora collabs with her fellow Brit, Tinie Tempah, for this banger that was written by Drake.

Rita uses Nneka’s powerful chorus from “Heartbeat” for her own bridge before the chorus. However, Ora’s use of it pales in comparison to Nneka’s powerful and heartfelt song that surrounded that chorus. Nonetheless, this track is an ill introduction for Rita … let’s just hope that the originality is clearer next time.
