Attorney Gloria Allred is kind of a big deal. Bill Cosby, President Donald Trump, OJ Simpson, Eddie Murphy, Tiger Woods, Michael Jackson are names that the Philadelphia native and Los Angeles-based lawyer has taken to task in court.

Tabbed as a feminist lawyer, Allred was honored last year at the 2016 International Women’s Forum (IWF) World Leadership Conference with the 2016 IWF Women Who Make a Difference Award.

She’s cementing a legacy and for those tardy to the party, her daughter, Lisa Bloom, is representing Blac Chyna in her revenge porn cases against ex-beau Rob Kardashian.

But I digress.

In a recent chat with me on Scoop B Radio, Gloria Allred shared her wish list of activists that she wished that she could have worked with. “I can answer that question pretty quickly actually cause Susan B Anthony,” Allred told me in an appearance on Scoop B Radio. “And Elizabeth Cady Stanton. I would’ve loved to have met them. They are my heroes. They fought for the right to vote for women and Sojourner Truth, of course, as well they all did and at great sacrifice of themselves.”

In 1997 Allred was honored with the Outstanding Member Award from the National Association of Women Lawyers. And in 1998 she was named one of The Most 50 Powerful Women in Los Angeles Law by the Los Angeles Business Journal and selected by the National Law Journal as one of The 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America.

She added more background to her who’s who of leading ladies she’d love to have worked with.

Voted one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in 1986, Allred earned her B.A. with honors in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her M.A. from New York University and her J.D. cum laude from Loyola University School of Law in Los Angeles. She was also awarded an honorary J.D. from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law.   “You know you don’t have to be a famous person to win change,” she told me on Scoop B Radio.

Allred added about Rosa Parks:

“She was not a famous person. So we can all have as I say in my book ‘A Rosa Parks moment every day.’ And we should have a Rosa Parks moment everyday where we’re not only a witness to what is wrong but we take action to right that wrong.”

Allred is a founding partner of the law firm Allred, Maroko & Goldberg. Her firm handles more women’s rights cases than any other private firm in the nation and has won hundreds of millions of dollars for victims. Ms. Allred also founded and is currently president of the Women’s Equal Rights Legal Defense and Education Fund (WERLDEF).

Fans were anticipating on seeing Tiger Woods this month to play in the PGA Tour season for the Safeway Open in Napa, California, on October 10th thru 13th but received this surprise announcement from Woods via his website:

“My rehabilitation is to the point where I’m comfortable making plans, but I still have work to do, “Whether I can play depends on my continued progress and recovery. My hope is to have my game ready to go.”

Woods then made this statement on his tigerwoods.com website Monday afternoon:

“After a lot of soul searching and honest reflection, I know that I am not yet ready to play on the PGA Tour or compete in Turkey,”My health is good, and I feel strong, but my game is vulnerable and not where it needs to be.

According to MSN, Woods committed to play for the Safeway Open just last Friday and was scheduled to pair with NBA Superstar, Stephen Curry during Wednesday’s Pro-Am. Woods was also scheduled to play for the Turkish Open on November 3rd thru 6th but will not play for them as well. However, he is still scheduled to play in the Hero World Challenge beginning December 1st thru 4th.

Woods’ golf career has been very unstable since he’s had a couple of back surgeries. He played his last game in August of last year for the Wyndham Championship. The following month Woods announced he had another operation scheduled for his back and by October of 2015, Woods was working on his third back surgery.

Due to these major surgeries, Tiger Woods missed four majors for the first time in his long PGA career.

“When I announced last week I was going to Safeway, I had every intention of playing, or I wouldn’t have committed, “I spent a week with the U.S. Ryder Cup team, an honor and experience that inspired me even more to play. I practiced the last several days in California, but after a lot of hours, I knew I wasn’t ready to compete against the best golfers in the world. I will continue to work hard, and plan to play at my foundation’s event, the Hero World Challenge.

“I would like to apologize and send my regrets to Safeway, the Turkish Airlines Open, the fans in California and Turkey and those that had hoped to watch me compete on TV. This isn’t what I wanted to happen, but I will continue to strive to be able to play tournament golf. I’m close, and I won’t stop until I get there.”

Nobody knows your body better than you and the older we all get our body tends to have a mind of it’s own. Tiger seems to know his body well and has taken the necessary precautions to make sure he doesn’t injure his back no more than he should. Guess fans will have to wait until December to see him in action. Best wishes Tiger on a full recovery.
