G.O.O.D. Music has always been known for picking up gems to add to the squad, and Valee is the latest chosen to answer the call.

Having made a big move for himself, Valee sets the tone off right with a melodic instrumental, giving us a sense of what he’s bringing to the table. Now, he releases his video for his record “Miami,” a drop that Valee definitely had up his sleeve. Co-signing for Valee is none other than G.O.O.D. Music President Pusha T, who uses a gritty flow serving nothing but pure lyricism.

Valee knows that, to stay relevant in this game is to stay consistent, which is an attribute Valee has proven to have. With the growing amount of talent coming from this corner of the music industry, Valee’s made a big enough impact that it’s almost impossible to count them out of the game.

Having just released his debut EP G.O.O.D. Job, You Found Me, Valee isn’t going to allow others to think he’s just another one-hit wonder. With executive production from Kanye West (a rarity in itself nowadays, but great to see ‘Ye back in business), Valee moves forward and keeps expectations high, giving fans a taste of what G.O.O.D. Music has in store.

The music game is like a jungle: you’re los, not knowing which direction to run in until you catch that big break. Moving as a unit has always been how G.O.O.D. Music has managed to be a top competitor, which seems to be the reputation that proceeds them.

Out of all the content that has been released so far in 2018, Cozz is setting the bar high with the release of his project Effected. From beginning to end, Cozz expresses different relatable situations throughout manhood. Rather than speaking on matters of the heart, Cozz’ blunt attitude and straight forward sense of thinking gives off the perception of a player. Being one of the main artists on Dreamville‘s forefront, Cozz is sure to fill in the necessary gaps to land his solidified spot in the game.

This being Cozz’s second studio album — his first was Cozz & Effect — the West Coast rhymer has gained quite the hype on social media. The 14-track project includes features by Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y, GARREN and J. Cole. You can stream Effected below via TIDAL.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama, Dwyane Wade, Jay-Z, Fabolous, DJ Khaled, P.Diddy and many more have been photographed under the keen lens of Calligrafist.

His photography is a bridge between fashion, lifestyle, hip hop and culture.

He’s everywhere!  Literally!

Harlem, NY bred and globally influenced, Calligrafist actually didn’t aspire to be a photographer. In fact, he fell in love with the art of graffiti and calligraphy; hence the nickname, ‘Calligrafist.’

A man of faith, the devout Muslim is college educated at Jamia Madinatul Uloom University in Trinidad & Tobago, where he studied Quranic Studies and Arabic reading and writing.

Calligrafist acknowledges seasoned hip hop photographers like Johnny Nunez and Jonathan Mannion  who have undoubtedly paved the way for on-the rise photographers such as himself. Calligrafist emphasizes that he’s glad to sit at the table with them and eat, while also gaining their respect for his skin in the game. “It’s genuinely cool to have intimate conversations with them,” he said.

“It’s more humbling that I am able to have direct access to people that I look up to like them and someone like Lenny S., DJ Clark Kent, Emory Jones, that have a name in the industry, people that have a place in the culture, for people to acknowledge me for more my work; that’s an honor. That’s more humbling. But it moves me to want to do more.”

Brooklyn’s Barclays Center saw a festival level of appearances from DJ Khaled, Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Wonder, Cardi B, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Chris Brown, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Vic Mensa, A$AP Ferg, Yo Gotti and more…of course, Hov did his thing on stage as well.

Tidal is the wave these days. That said, it really shouldn’t be any surprise that Florida’s own Choppa Zoe, a standout in the Tidal original series, ‘Money & Violence’ is seizing the moment and releasing his own music in between acting.

“The feel of the song brings you to a familiar place,” Choppa Zoe told me via e-mail.

“It has an old, but new feel and iam talkin to my female fanbase. I’ve yet to do a song for them this is the first!”

Earlier this week, digital/physical ads and billboards have been popping up everywhere (read: New York, L.A. and your computer screen)…being the researchers that we all are, it was quickly revealed that TIDAL was behind the minimal and massive campaign: all you saw was ‘4:44’. Naturally, Hip-Hop took this as a sign that JAY Z — TIDAL’s owner — was preparing to release what would be his thirteenth album since 2013’s Magna Carta… Holy Grail.

Apparently, music is not the main product behind this at all. During Wednesday’s NBA Finals game, a minute-long, black-and-white trailer unveiled a boxing film that apparently stars Mahershala Ali, Lupita Nyong’o and Danny Glover. The end of the clip reads that this movie — called 4:44? — was produced by TIDAL in conjunction with Sprint (NOTE: Sprint acquired a third of TIDAL back in January). If anything, it shows TIDAL’s creativity and innovation when it comes to competing with its larger adversaries, moving just as much like Netflix as it does like Spotify or Apple Music.

Truth be told: this A-list presentation could still be promotion for new music from Hov — it’s not like he hasn’t gone big with album marketing before.
