Rae entered our world, of course, over RZA‘s dead-eyed, gutter production. But maybe this sound has always been his destiny. Raekwon sounds undeniably good over this kind of swanky, velvety backdrop. Instead of requiring the kind of nimble footwork that RZA’s beats normally require, and are better suited for the likes of Meth, this kind of tumbling, smoke-in-the-air beat is exactly what the doctor chef, with his rich, unwieldy lines, ordered.

Sidenote: once the beat switches, this song turns into the best Dipset / Wu collaboration that never happened.
