Production duo The KickDrums released their new mixtape, Follow the Leaders today (download here).  The tape features guest spots from MGK, Freddie Gibbs, Casey Veggies and more, but one highly anticipated track was left off.  To the surprise and disappointment of many, the track “Ridin'” which teams up Lana Del Rey and A$AP Rocky was left off.

The track was pulled at the last second due to some “label reasons” according to The KickDrums’ Twitter page, but we do still have a preview.  If the preview and tweet below are any indication, then it looks like we missed out on something fire.

Producer Alan Wilkis laces The KickDrums (a Cleveland-bred producing duo who moonlight as a pretty dope band) with a synth-heavy beat, and Alex Fitts puts his smooth vocals to work in this video for their collaboration effort.

If you aren’t familiar with The KickDrums, they’ve produced tracks for John Legend, Kid Cudi, and 50 Cent just to name a few. They’ve been heavily involved in the hip hop game, and the genre rears its head in a lot of their music. Their latest album is called Meet Your Ghost, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for something different, but still want a little bit of that familiar boom bap in your headphones.
