Today, Oddisee has surprisingly dropped his new self-produced EP, Alwasta. The 7 track EP blends the sounds of rap, funk, soul and jazz to give the MC an unique aesthetic of his own.

The DMV native has big plans for 2016. According to his bandcamp, Alwasta — which is an Arabic word that refers to a member of the community who acts as a connector using their wealth of social currency A.K.A. the plug —  is just one of two EPs dropping.

In May, Oddisee will be showcasing much more of his producer side with an instrumental tape right before he heads on tour with his band, Good Compny. As the tour wraps up in late July, he will work on his next solo album set to drop in the fall. The forthcoming project will be the follow up his 2015 critically acclaimed album, The Good Fight.

Following on from the release of his singles “What’s Goin On” featuring Nitty Scott, MC and “Who Am I?” with Skyzoo, Brooklyn native Ace Clark releases his much-anticipated debut opus, The Good Fight.

Laced with sharp, golden age inspired production flecked with neo-soul and upbeat, inspirational lyrics, The Good Fight is bound to give you a much-needed boost for the midweek blues. Production is courtesy of The Cratez, Tone Jonez and Shine Sinatra, among others, including a few self-produced cuts. Keep an ear out for the amazing vocals of Naiika Sings who features on a couple of tracks – incredible pair of lungs on her!

Washington D.C.’s Oddisee, one of hip-hop best kept secrets, is getting ready to hit the road. His new album, The Good Fight, is now available on iTunes, but officially arrives in stores on May 5th via Mello Music Group. In celebration of the new collection of music that features led singles “Thats Love” and “Belong To The World,” he’ll bring his talent to various cities across the country. Hitting cities such as Denver, Los Angeles, New York, and more, the tour kicked off a few days ago on April 24th in Mesa, AZ and concludes on May 17th in Boston, MA.

Yesterday Phonte put out the visuals to his track, “The Good Fight,”off his debut solo album Charity Starts At Home. If you haven’t had a chance to check out this album, you’re slacking. Nevertheless, Phonte’s flow is front and center on this joint. I can’t say enough about the list of producers on this album, not the least of which includes former fellow Little Brother member 9th Wonder.
