Nine years after releasing his debut album Food & Liquor, Lupe Fiasco gives us a video for “Just Might Be OK”, which is featured on the project. With the current events taking place in our nation, particularly Baltimore and the Freddie Gray, Lupe saw fit to deliver the Chris and Blaq-directed visual. The timing couldn’t be more perfect.

Lupe’s most recent album, Tetsuo & Youth, is available now.

Lupe Fiasco gives us a new visual from his latest album, Tetsuo & Youth, and the first thing you’ll notice as the viewer, is the peculiar place in which the clip is set.

A strip club? Yep. A strip club.

However, the Alex Nazari-directed video for “Adoration of the Magi”, is a huge contrast from the typical “shake some’n!” or “make it rain!” clips that we are all probably used to. There is a much deeper, more ironic message here. Take a second to peep it above (unless you’re at work, or in a library).

Following the release of Tetsuo & Youth, Lupe Fiasco decides to liberate the POINTGUARD & Larrance (of 1500 or Nothin’)  produced outtake from his unreleased Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 2 LP. Entitled “Atomic Misphilosophy”, the record serves as the second of a dual release from the Chicago native which also included the premiere of the Nikki Jean assisted visual for “Madonna”.

Grammy award winner, Lupe Fiasco adds to the growing list of incredible, socially conscious late night appearances as of late with his performance of “Deliver” on Late Night With Seth Meyers. The energetic, yet thought-provoking performance was made complete with live drums and plenty of background singers dressed in all black who were reminiscent of the progressive Black Panther Party-which was born out of the social injustices we still face today with today.

The track itself matched the dark and aggressive aesthetics of the performance by detailing racial discrimination, and the sometimes bleak outlook that comes with life in the ghetto. Ultimately, when you take all the polarizing Twitter rants out of the picture, Lupe Fiasco proves he’s still a great artist. Tetsuo & Youth will be hitting stores January 20th, a project highly anticipated for quite some time. There is no doubt that Lupe Fiasco has applied every effort to create something of quality for his audience, so we are assured this is well worth the wait. Overcoming holdbacks with Atlantic Records, who originally refused release of the upcoming project, Lupe is now reaching the finalization stages before presenting this masterpiece to the world.
Appearing to no longer be Lost in the Atlantic Ocean, the streets are in line to receive a promising album from the Kick Push artist; of course, consisting of heartfelt and truthful lyrics in its entirety.
