In addition to his hometown peers, Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith has helped to raise the bar within Memphis’ long-standing music scene. A lot of people from the city can vouch; he has single-handedly provided the soundscapes for some of your favorite hits within the last couple of years, from assisting with BlocBoy JB’s “shoot” phenomenon to contributing to Drake’s “Nonstop” reign over Hip-Hop. In 2019 (and beyond), Tay Keith continues to provide a fresh, unique platform for everyone to vibe to.

A Middle Tennessee State University graduate, Tay’s successes are making people understand just how important Memphis is to the culture. The most eccentric thing about the young “SICKO MODE” producer is his “less is more” approach to creating music; his beats both dwell in simplicity and diversity, a new wave all his own. As a product of the self-proclaimed ‘Grind City’, Tay follows a list of Hip-Hop pioneers: we have to pay respects to legendary greats like Three 6 Mafia and 8Ball & MJG, who have themselves paved the way for the likes of Yo Gotti, Young Dolph and Moneybagg Yo. Now (alongside BlocBoy JB), Tay Keith sits comfortably amongst the aforementioned frontrunners, making his city and the world proud and more aware of what Memphis has to offer. He’s been “f***[in’] these n***as up,” indeed.

RESPECT. recently caught up with Tay Keith, who talked about his achievements, the record that became his big break, remaking “Before I Let Go,” his company Drumatized and more.

“901 Shelby Drive Look Alive, Look Alive” is the song of the year for this rising producer! F these ni**as up is the tag you hear once you press the play on his records. If super producer Tay Keith comes to mind, you’ve thought correct. The Memphis native has been coming up in the game, representing his city, and making it known that the city has something to say. It was a life changing moment for him when the single featuring Drizzy Drake shot up the charts. Along with his success, Tay is shedding a light on the dope creators and artists of the city. Coming from a city that bred heavy hitters like Three Six Mafia, and 8ball and MJG, it is no surprise the kid is setting the bar for the new wave of producers.

As a college senior, the “Real Rich” producer had a banger on his plate along with many more in the safe. In this safe of his, he also has hard-hitting records with other Memphis hip-hop artists such as: Key Glock, Blac Youngsta, Blocboy JB and more! All together, the creatives are thriving to let the world know that Memphis rap is still here. Tay Keith’s come up story is one for the books! With his song “Lil’ B****,” off of Youngstas’ mixtape F*** Everybody, Tay started buzzing and then his future became brighter. On top of that, Keith also found his purpose. Things started progressing and from that point, Keith was cooking up beats non stop. Many believe his vision now and see that he is going hard for his city. He demonstrates that there’s nothing like that hometown love and hospitality.

Tay Keith is leading the new wave of Memphis sounds. With his consistency and persistence as a producer, Tay Keith is ahead of the game. Additionally, he is going down in history as the youngest creative in Memphis to represent his city by way of music. He recently signed a handful of Memphis artists on his label and recently announced on twitter that he is looking for more promising talent. This is the start to something big so sit back and watch the rise of Tay Keith!
