Tange Lomax Drops ‘Anthems Only’ With Kenny Wizard

Seems like Carolina rapper Tange Lomax has been dropping songs back to back lately but I think we can all agree that we’re taking notice. Just two weeks ago, we premiered her eclectic single “Hunna” with Lynn Kieno and Charlotte’s 006 Set Frais. If you bumped it, you know that no sound is really a challenge for the rapper and that is what’s keeping most of us on our toes.

This week Tange Lomax dropped another collab and this time it’s with music engineer and Carolina rapper Kenny Wizard for their single titled “Anthems Only”. The song is super smooth and as usual the lyrics have any easy flow to it. It can definitely be said that the beat is always somewhat unpredictable with this artist but she always true to the sound. What’s different about this single is that it’s not only a single but…*drumroll* it will also be the name of her upcoming clothing/hat line. The theme of the clothing line will be “Anthems Only , God Only , Love Only”.  The concept is pretty simple, not too much depth , and is self explanatory not to mention it’s not everyday that Carolina rappers are drop a clothing line alongside their single so this definitely gets my respect. The clothing line isn’t set to drop until this summer which isn’t really far considering it’s already April, but I think we can expect some good sh*t. Of course when we get some samples, we’ll definitely let you all get a peep as well. On the music tip, don’t be surprised if the rapper is back with another single next week. She’s been dropping music back to back and never fails to bring in the other Carolina talent off the scene with her. Whatever is next, expect the unexpected but also expect it to be dope.

Seems like if the artists of North Carolina are not only rising independently but are teaming up more and more to contribute to the culture wave of the south. Recently rapper, Tange Lomax dropped her single entitled “Hunna“ which features two other great artists who are Charlotte natives who go by Lynn Kieno and Frais. If your familiar with Tange’s singles like “Breakthrough“ and  “1st Quarter” then you know that she’s bringing something unique to the scene.

Recently the rapper brought in Lynn who’s known for being active amongst the 704 scene and Frais who caught the attention of A$AP Yams’ former assistant, Tyler Grosso back in 2013. With this trio’s latest track, expect the unexpected. The six minute single produced by Pascaal gives not just one vibe, but a electronic feel (like what Disclosure does) except it’s mixed with bars. What makes it an all around dope track is that it’s not a predictable rhythm, you wanna know the lyrics, possibly dance to it a SXSW, and play it in your car with the windows down on a hot a** day. The song of course focuses on the obvious which is keeping it “hunna” along with asking how it feels to keep it real. Although the song is catchy and unique in itself, the highlight of the song would have to be Tange’s personal intro. After the beat runs for a full minute, she says:

“I’m from the city where nobody make it out, we too real and it aint no faking now, we came too far to give it up/That tough guy role give it up/We got fucked up, we gonna do it again tomorrow……………….” (it continues but Genius exists for a reason)

North Carolina’s Tange Lomax recently dropped her EP entitled No Hard Feelings, that brings a lot of personal things to the light on a chill wave. I first heard about the artist last May through C9’s JK The Reaper and once I heard their duo song “Breakthrough“ , it was clear that she was bringing something we’ve never heard before to the  table. The Carolina rapper says that she’s inspired by Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill , Eve, Ludacris, Jill Scott, and JAY Z. Not only did she recently drop the new EP but she also shot a video for her single, “Black Models”.  Check out the rising artists’ latest  EP as well as the video below and let us know what you think!
