Today on RESPECT. Magazine we want to highlight a young rising artist coming out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His name is Tajh Virgil and he is a 24 year old music producer, musical artist, and songwriter. Tajh’s music is meaningful but catchy at the same time. He stands out as he uses his pen to promote individuality and self-love. Tajh was able to create his sound and curate his path by reading books and studying other artists such as Kanye, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Drake, Big Sean, Jaime Foxx, Usher, and many more.

He recently dropped the official music video for his hit “Somebody.” As he has mant different tracks under his belt, we want to introduce him first. Get to know him right here on RESPECT. spotlight.

RESPECT.: When did the importance of self love and individuality come in? How?

It was always instilled in me at a young age from both my parents pushing the importance of it but it never resonated until I started finding myself as a person. That transitioned into me personalizing my flows, looks eventually, and the way I carry myself in & outside of music.

RESPECT.: What difficulties do you find in being a 24 year old music artist and how do you overcome them?

Most difficult thing is finding and balancing budgets to execute the right moves to effectively get the music heard. There are always free ways I find but having bills and putting money behind a career is a task in itself.

RESPECT.: What is your ideal music career?

Being a music mogul, topping charts, classic collaborations, giving back to the world and my family.

RESPECT.: How do people respond to your music?

People respond to my music with joy mainly because of the freeness and positivity. Its more of an outlet and way out of reality for people because it usually puts people in a Euphoria.

RESPECT.: What was it like for you growing up? When did you switch into music. Do you remember your first steps?

It was pretty easy at times for me growing up. My parents always kept me spiritually sound and around my siblings. Those things are important to us and a big part of what made me I’d say. We were allowed to freely express our talents when the time came to see what we liked and what we didn’t. I switched into writing my own music in high school as a freshman. Was always in choir under my mom and grandma and my dad was in the studio himself. That’s what got me into writing my own music. My Dad had his own studio and invited me to come see what it was about. Fell in love with it ever since.

RESPECT.: I see you can sing as well. Can you list all your talents/skills for me?

I song write, produce, make beats, and I know how to engineer as far as the basics when it comes to music. I do photography, mentor, and a bunch of other talents.
