Get hip with SuperSmashBroz, the Nigerian DJ duo, by way of Boston. The pair unveil their latest single “Trophy.” Produced by Maka and SuperSmashBroz themselves, the song is inspired by love and admiration. It’s no secret that Bean Town is the sports epicenter, so winning trophies are not only an expectation for each team at the beginning of the year, but trophies are held in extreme high regard. Having dropped their most recent project Family Cookout, which was released back in late 2017, the SuperSmashBroz have been doing nothing more than just grinding and moving forward with their artistry. For their latest, they release new visuals for “U Thought,” accompanied alongside with Gio Dee and Polo $ummers, who add a different flavor in your ear with this record.

Known for making nothing less than great records, it’s almost impossible to think of Boston and counting them out. SmashBroz are known for getting the vibes right (and getting you on/off your feet) and “U Thought” is clearly another banger. The record is complimented by a very jiggy instrumental, which allows Gio and $ummers to do what they do best. Hoping that their passion for barbering would never come in the way of them becoming artists, the response from Gio’s clientele is enough evidence that neither one are cut out for giving out fades.

Coming off their recent mix Get Your Vibes Right Vol. 6, the SuperSmashBroz have been doing just that since then. SmashBroz come back with yet another hit to sooth the hearts after Valentine’s Day with “Cuff Up.” With help by LDG on the production the vibe seems to have been met, but the SmashBroz are always ready to make another smash hit.

Setting the vibes right as they normally do, the SmashBroz link up with Boston natives Maka and Gin Mason to give the record a Caribbean feel to it. Pushing boundaries in the name of love has been something we are all guilty of. The SmashBroz are used to setting the vibe right without any problem, and they have done it again with this one. For everyone who had a lonely Valentine’s Day, just do us a favor and “Cuff Up” via the mix below.

With the growing competitive mentalities in Boston, everyone wants a piece of the pie. The SuperSmashBroz — known for being the DJs for local Boston artist Michael Christmas — have been hitting the ground running ever since the release of their collective project Family Cookout.

The duo of the SmashBroz is made up of DJ Nomz and DJ Fresco and have been making a name for themselves over the years. With the recent release of their new visuals for the record (and first installment,) they wanted to make sure that they captured Boston’s as is and let the vibe just take over.

Plad Fine$$e, who has been highly spoken about recently, flows on the track like it was made for him alongside his constituents Lil Rich and CHI, who give their own little twist to the record. Showing their unique styles of rap (as well as being backed by the dope visuals displayed around Boston), they’re ready to show who has it.

With Boston having been on the backburner in the music scene for so long, that it’s been hard to take the lead in this race.

In the midst of the recent Hip-Hop growth happening in Boston, SuperSmashBroz have come together for the new offering Family Cookout. The SmashBroz are made up of DJ Fre$co & DJ Nomz, and the two decided that Boston needed an album to show how strong the collective truly is. Having been (or still being) DJ’s for Michael Christmas, the SmashBroz had enough free time during their tour to represent Boston with a quality collaboration. Preparing for the drop of their long-awaited project, the SmashBroz held listening parties for media representatives and DJ’s so that we could get a sense of all the work they put into this project.

Family Cookout features an abundance of artists from Boston on the album, such as Vintage Lee, Millyz, Reem Skully, Dutchy DoBad, Nick Gray, Nyce Franklyn, Izo, Big Leano, Rosewood Bape, Alejandro Blanco, Jefe Replay, Og Swaggerdick, Gio Dee, Polo Summers, Wizz Dakota, Gin Mason, Maye Star, & CH!LD. Each artist had something unique to bring to the table on the project, aside from the fact that most of them have known each other since childhood days…it goes to show how strong the bond is in Boston, it just feels like a family cookout. From bars to beats, the project was delivered hot and ready, fresh for our ears to consume.
