Over the last 40+ years, Saturday Night Live has had some amazing talent to grace it’s stage and some very well loved co-host too, and actress Margot Robbie is no exception.

On Friday (September 23), SNL has announced that Robbie will host their 42nd season premiere set to debut live on October 1st. Robbie, who has had an amazing year after starring in two major films ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘Tarzan’, is most well known as the the actress who played Leonardo DiCaprio‘s wife in the major motion film, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. Robbie who’s also played in the movie ‘The Big Short’, is no stranger to the big screen – but what about Prime time television? Robbie’s roles on the big screen roles have all been very dramatic, to say the least, so it’ll be very nice to see her let her hair down on the comedy circuit.

According to the NY Daily News, the 26-year-old Australian actress was one of the most frequently requested hosts when ‘SNL’ openly questioned the public for suggestions. After tallying results, SNL took to Twitter to announce that they have given fans their long time wish.

SNL, who recently lost cast members Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah, are coming into the new premiere season with a big bang! This season, the show has announced the addition of three new players joining the cast Alex Moffat, Melissa Villasenor and Mikey Day; in addition to two new head writers.  With the show making major changes  and with Robbie as the opener and musical guest The Weeknd, who just dropped his first single ‘Starboy’ on Tuesday as the musical guest; these strategic moves are proving that SNL is definitely headed for a really good season. Hopefully, SNL will have continued success for many more years to come.

While that spinoff has yet to be greenlit, Margot will be producing and starring in a Harley Quinn spinoff that will feature DC’s female superheroes and villains. We could see characters like Bat Girl, Bird of Prey, Poison Ivy, Talia al Ghul, Killer Frost, Black Canary, Vixen, Hawk Girl or Huntress.

Margot dove into the DC universe when she snagged the role of Harley and immediately fell in love with DC’s female characters. After securing the writer herself, Margot reached out to Warner Bros. who snatched it right up.

As per MovieFone, “A script is already in the works, with a female writer, though THR’s report says that details about the project are so shrouded in secrecy that not only is the plot being kept heavily under wraps, but not even the screenwriter’s name is known. Robbie herself is shepherding the project at Warner Bros., and will produce the flick as well.”

Looks like we may be getting this spinoff sooner rather than later. If Warner Bros decides to fast track this project, this Harley Quinn film would be the second female-led movie in the DCEU, following behind Wonder Woman. It’s looking like it might fill either the Oct. 5, 2018 or the  Nov. 1, 2019 dates that Warner Bros has reserved for DC movies.

Here’s hoping we get to see the women of the DC Universe!

The petition, created by Abdullah Coldwater, had been a way for fans to express their displeasure. There is also a belief among fans that DCEU movies are unfairly reviewed and too often compared with Marvel movies, and that those negative reviews would affect people’s opinion on the movie whether it was a good film or not.

According to Time, Coldwater had clarified that his petition’s aim had not been to shut down the website, but that is was a “to deliver a message to the critics that there is a lot of people disagree with their reviews”.

On August 3, Coldwater withdrew his petition after gaining over 17,000 signatures, according to comicbook.com. In his final announcement on Change.org, he left the following message:

In fact i started this petition to gather dc fans to express our anger just for fun. I didn’t mean it to be taken that serious. After thinking. I found this petition is pointless. And the only thing that it does is spreading a speech of hate and online fighting among the supporters and objectors . The movies is something to enjoy. And the hate and fight is the opposite of enjoying.

Suicide Squad will be released on August 5, where fans can decide for themselves if they agree with Coldwater and his supporters, or the critics from Rotten Tomatoes.

A glimpse of the DC Comic inspired movie Suicide Squad was shown in one of the new movie promos ads that aired during Game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday night. We are ready for the release and you should be too!

Suicide Squad is set for release on August 5th through Warner Bros. and will be directed by David Ayer. Actors, Will Smith and Jared Leto both will star in the movie. Smith, someone who is used to playing the hero, will play the villian Deadshot. Leto will bring to life the role of one of the most infamous DC comic characters, The Joker. “The only villain who may be more infamous is the Devil,” Ayers said.

Adding more anticipation, Rick Ross and Skrillex will collaborate on a track which will be included on the soundtrack for the film. The track will also feature a cameo from Leto’s character in the music video.

Synopsis:

It feels good to be bad. Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer, Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying or decide it’s every man for himself?

Calm down. The new Suicide Squad trailer is out. Like, isn’t it everything we dreamed of? This action-packed, abridged version of the trailer stars the likes of Philadelphia rapper, Will Smith and Margot Robbie. This is a story of a group of super villains who come together and accept a secret, government mission. Need we say more?

Here is a pick-me-up. You are very welcome. On the plus side, this looks really engaging. Cool? Absolutely. Exciting? Definitely. Face book posts are being updated with sharing this trailer as we speak, most likely. The only downside is this trailer is it’s kinda “gimmicky.” Check it out below.

Keeping the momentum going, Oscar winning rapper Common recently signed on to play in the upcoming villain driven movie, Suicide Squad. The comic-turned-movie is filled with such stars as Will Smith (Deadshot), Jared Leto (The Joker), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller). No news on Common’s role in the film as of yet. Suicide Squad is projected to be released in 2016.
