It would appear as if all of Marion Hugh “Suge” Knight Jr.‘s demons have — officially — caught up to him. After being in prison for some 3 and a half years await trial for the murder of Terry Carter, the former Death Row mogul was formerly sentenced to 28 years in prison, pleading no content to voluntary manslaughter. As broken down by TMZ:

The 53-year-old will get credit for time served — he’s been in jail awaiting trial for around 3 1/2 years. He’ll also be on parole for 3 years after serving his prison sentence.

Suge’s sentence is stiffer than a typical voluntarily manslaughter because he had a prior felony conviction in 1997. He also got an extra 5 years because the Carter killing was deemed a “serious and violent” felony. He got an additional year due to his truck being a deadly weapon.

Lifetime released the trailer for the new movie, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge, and Michel’le yesterday. Rhyon Nicole Brown will be playing the lead, Michel’le and from the trailer, it’s looking like an amazing portrayal with this great story to back it.

The movie is supposed to be about Michel’le, the unspoken woman behind the men in the Straight Outta Compton story. Straight Outta Compton was about the story of NWA, and the feuds that followed after between NWA and Jerry Heller, Ice Cube and NWA, and eventually Dr. Dre and Suge Knight. However, the movie lacked one major point of view and like the trailer states, “Behind the men who changed hip hop is the woman who knows the truth.”

The movie will premiere on October 15th, 2016.

Chris Brown just can’t catch a break, no matter where he goes or what he does, tribulation just seems to latch on to him.

Unfortunately for Brown, Marion “Suge” Knight intends on suing him along with owners of 1 Oak nightclub. This is where Suge was shot seven times during a pre-VMA party that was hosted by Brown.

According to the Associated Press, Suge decided to file the suit Monday morning in Los Angeles Superior Court. He accuses Brown and club owners of declining to have appropriate security and permitting entry to at least one armed individual.

Suge experienced gunshot injuries to the abdomen, chest and left forearm during the shooting, which results in him seeking a vague amount of money for past and present medical bills. Representatives for Suge state that extra precautions should have been in place considering Brown has a “well documented track record of hosting events/parties where violence frequently happens”.

We all know Suge is currently in jail awaiting trail for a murder charge due to a lethal car crash in 2015. Which makes it compelling on why he is deciding to seek litigation now!

Last year’s third richest artist in hip-hop, Dr. Dre, might become a couple million dollars richer. According to Radar Online, the hip-hop pioneer has filed a lawsuit against his former label, Death Row Records, for more than $3 million in unpaid royalties. The Beats by Dre executive states that the label owes him $1,200,386.57 in unpaid artist-producer royalties, $1,179,913 from digital sales and $676,444.44 for unpaid mechanical royalties. He also claims that the label has yet to honor a bonus that would increase his royalty rate from 18 to 20 percent.

Luckily for Suge Knight, he is not too affected by this lawsuit. In 2006 Suge filed for bankruptcy and Death Row was later bought out in 2008.
