Vic Mensa is actually having a great year so the track title doesn’t really apply but he drops the video for his single “Down On My Luck” anyway. The track has a cool, jiggy vibe to it and the Ben Dickinson-directed video captures the mood perfectly. The video follows Vic during a typical night in the club, which includes him getting drugged, arrested and finally smoking a spliff upon his exit. The song itself is really fun, and definitely has a dance vibe to it which showcases the versatility of the XXL Freshman and we’re here for it. The Stefan Ponce-produced track hits iTunes on July 6. UK Producer Paul White, who produced three tracks on Detroit bred MC Danny Brown’s breakthrough album XXX, is once again working with the rapper for the majority of his upcoming album Old. On “Street Lights,” Brown speaks to the poverty and neglect experienced in Detroit over pounding war drums, strings and a choir. White will be releasing his own solo Watch The Ants EP this summer.

Here’s some news that is sure to rile up longtime Eminem stans fans. The rapper recently told MTV’s RapFix that he has a new single coming out following the Slaughterhouse album. The single will feature both Aftermath protege Kendrick Lamar as well as pop superstar Lady Gaga and is called “Street Lights.”

The “upbeat” record follows in some of Eminem’s recent footsteps, which have included hooks from Rihanna, P!nk and Bruno Mars. Read the full execerpt down below. What do you think of the lineup?

“Yeah, I got this crazy record with Gaga and Kendrick for the upcoming LP”, Eminem told MTV Rapfix early Saturday morning. “Its called “Street Lights”, and its just a real upbeat record.”

When asked if the collaboration would be be released as a single, Em said, “Definitely. We don’t have a release date yet, but it’ll be after Slaughterhouse’s album.”

Fun fact: this comes just a year after Eminem sent a little jab Gaga’s way on “Kiss,” off the Bad Meets Evil LP: “Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office / She’s still a male lady,” Em raps on the track.

UPDATE: Looks like we’ve been bamboozled. Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg took to Twitter and dispelled the rumors.
