2015 is a great year for the DMV music scene.

Kelow, a Maryland-based rapper, reveals her latest project “Amethyst Stoner.” For the last three years, Kelow has refined and perfect her craft, giving us sick bangers such as: “JigglyPuff” and “Finna.”

“I took foot on a journey I didn’t intend to foresee before,” Kelow tells Billboard. “I created this masterpiece, Amethyst Stoner — it’s my birthstone. I found interest without depth, and traveled deeper within myself, sacrificing qualities I thought would last forever — but nothing does and I’m ok with that.”

When listening to this project, you won’t be able to keep still. The production  is out of this world, and Kelow gives out powerful energy. Even Kari Faux thinks so:

Looking to bridge the gap between both the conscious and cool, DMV native, Jay IDK has officially released his highly anticipated debut body of work, “SubTrap.”

“SubTrap” is short for Suburban Trap and is loosely based on the life of the well-versed emcee. The LP gives an unbiased account of life on both sides of the drug game. Personified through the characters: Chris, Jon Jon, Matt, Ed and King Trappy III (pictured on the LP’s artwork) — who you should already be familiar with if you’ve listened to the albums 1st single “The Plug.”

Mixed by Delbert Bowers (“Yeezus,” “Long.Live.A$AP,” “The Marshall Mathers LP2”) Lo-Mein​, Tim Webberson​, Matt Weiss and Delbert Bowers, while production duties were split between in-house instrumentalist Lo-Fi, TDE frequent collaborator Skhyehutch (Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city hymn “I’m Dying of Thirst”), Tobari, GameBrand, The Glitch Mob, Noose, Mister Temptation, The Watcherz and Jay himself.
