French street artist Christian Guémy, otherwise known as C215, has recently created some amazingly realistic pencil drawings in Barcelona and Berlin. C215 has been an active street artist for over 20 years with his first stencil work appearing in 2006. Apparently, according to Street Art London, he’s passed on the talent. His daughter has joined the family business making her own 2 layer stencils. See much more on Flickr.

Over three decades ago, Blek le Rat was a young French artist painting his portrait around Paris in pursuit of fame. He now stands unchallenged as the grandfather of stencil art, a medium pioneered by Blek and carried on by all subsequent generations. Stencil graffiti is used to increase speed, a necessity for graffiti artists who risk arrest for the sake of their art.
