Vic Mensa, who has been releasing a track here and there ever since his INNANETAPE turned out to be one of the better mixtapes of 2013, is one of the more promising young talents making waves in the hip-hop game right now. Today, the Chicago-native dropped his latest, “Feel That,” a surprisingly club-friendly track produced by Smoko Ono. It’s not the kind of hunger that leads to desperate growling or over-the-top theatrics, it’s one that’s driven him to master his craft to ultimate crispness, while the occasional gruffness sneaks through. The inviting hum of Smoko Ono‘s backdrop sounds just like home for Jarred. Also, sampling “Notorious Thugs” seems to go well pretty often.
