The whole concert was split in half bringing out artists from Kirk Collins and Austin Royale to Key! (former member of Two-9) and Denzel Curry’s fellow labelmate, JK The Reaper. Media outlets like Smoker’s Club, The Fader, and many others were present to take notice of the range of talent that came out to perform.

Out of all the performances, the artist who really stood out was Charlotte’s very own Rashaun Hampton. As soon as he popped on stage during the day show with his song “Jesus Piece,” he literally only had to rap 2 bars [PAUSE] –a rare thing to happen in a local Charlotte-based event. The entire crowd truly embraced what Hampton had to offer.

Rashaun Hampton was considerably the breakout act at the concert and will definitely keep holding Charlotte’s attention as a rising artist out of the 704.

This April Fool’s day marks the scheduled release date for Smoke DZA‘s newest compilation, Dream.ZONE.Achieve. Like its title, the album is structured in three acts, each with seven cuts apiece. Of the 21 songs confirmed on the album, one joint is a relic from the past–last spring’s “Ghosts of Dipset.” But this week, two new anthems have emerged on the web to get fans excited for Dream.Zone.Achieve‘s spring unveiling. Yesterday we dropped DZA‘s collaboration with Ab-Soul and DJ Dahi, “Hearses”. Today, we’re blessed with a fresh new video for “City of Dreams,” directed by none other than New York’s own Damon Dash. Check it out below.

Fat Trel has spent the last few years of his career trying to establish himself as one of the few hood rappers from the Capital District. While at first getting support from DC neighbors like Wale, the big man is putting his Slutty Boy team on his back and putting in work on his own. Now, after burning bridges with a few of his former idols, you might have seen Fat Trel doing his thing on Smokers Club Tour 2013. “Being a part of the Smokers Club was a blessing. Never underestimate the power of your music is what the tour taught me most because it was touching people I had no idea about,” Fat Trel tells BlowHipHop.TV on his most recent interview. Check the jump for the full clip.

Fat Trel began getting his buzz up in the DMV area and his music eventually reached the ears of The Board of Administration, one of D.C.’s established management groups who were instrumental in Wale’s career. However the relationship wasn’t built to last and Trel was dropped from the label without any warning. Trel never allowed the situation to slow his momentum and soon after found a home with the Smokers Club and Johnny Shipes’ Cinematic Music Group. With a long list of artists with whom Trel could both relate and build with, it was a no-brainer for Shipes to include Trel on the Smoker’s Club 2012 Summer Tour. It was there where Trel understood the impact of his music on fans across the country. With the support of industry veterans and the nation wide alignment of his Slutty Boyz and Slutty Girlz nation wide, Fat Trel is set to put on for North East DC and all the trappers that are still living that life.

Since its launch in summer 2010 by Jonny Shipes, The Smokers Club has become synonymous with good and high music. With members like Smoke DZA, Big K.R.I.T and Southern Wonderkid, as well as Steve-O of GFCnewyork, Shiest Bubz of the Legendary Purple City Byrd Gang and more, the club has since gone to host SXSW Showcases as well as tours around the world.

Playing off its considerable buzz and notoriety, the Smokers Club just launched their new store last Friday. The store, which already has fans from the hip-hop community like Ab-Soul, Freddie Gibbs and Joey Bada$$ just to name a few, has released a new collaborative tee with KRSP. And the crew will be touring this year, though the artists are not confirmed yet.
