T.I. is one of many artists voicing their opinion regarding Lil Wayne’s comments on the Black Lives Matter movement.

Last week, Lil Wayne sparked major controversy regarding his comments on the Black Lives Matter movement during his interview with ABC’s “Nightline”. Among the many activists who have spoke out against Wayne’s recent comments, a few notable rappers have also voiced their disagreement. Recently Jeezy, who is a long time friend and collaborator, claimed Wayne’s disconnect on the topic stems from his stardom at a very early age. Wayne himself admitted on a recent interview with Skip Bayless, that his life has been blessed from the start and never really had to deal with racism in his career. Vic Mensa also spoke out recently and condemned Wayne’s comments as “ignorant, selfish, and isolated”.

Yesterday, T.I., one of Atlanta’s most influential people and biggest public supporters of the BLM movement, took to instagram to offer a lengthy response to Lil Wayne. TIP, addresses the niche world Wayne seems to keep himself in lately, the long standing personal relationship between the two rappers and reminices of the times, their daughters played at each others house (read the full post below).

@liltunechi This is my son & daughter showing me this for the first time & asking me what you mean? I’m at a complete loss of words here. Wayne I’ve known you over a decade. Our daughters grew up together practically. Reginae’ spent countless times at my house with Niq-Niq when you were in prison & you extended my daughter the same courtesy when I was in the same position. Our relationship outside of music is what makes me sensitive to your disposition. I KNOW you wired a bit different than most other responsible adults, but still nigga U TRIPPING!!!! I don’t know what you goin thru,or what you are attempting to avoid but this shit is absolutely unacceptable!!!! You’re disrespecting yourself,bringing shame on your family name & tarnishing your legacy. You have children (including mines prior to now) that have looked up to you. You have sons & a daughter that depend upon your leadership. Bro if you don’t stand for something out here,all the money,jewelry,cars,mansions bandannas & hit records don’t mean shit!!!! Our people are being oppressed!!! We are being hunted,captured & slaughtered out here daily!!! You have to get outta that bubble that you’ve been living in & get out here & educate yourself on what’s going on around US!!! While the frustration of the BLM movement towards Wayne’s perspective is understandable, it’s important to note that Wayne has many times this year expressed his physical and mental exhaustion as a result of his continuing problems with Cash Money and CEO, Birdman. Lil Wayne is clearly not in a place to take on the weight of the world at the moment, which could offer another explanation for his disconnect with current social issues.

Earlier today, political commentator, Tomi Lahren of The Blaze, made incendiary comments pertaining to Lil Wayne’s recent interview on Fox Sports 1 new show, Skip and Shannon: Undisputed. 

During the “Final Thoughts” portion of The Blaze, Tomi Lahren delivered a provocative rant praising Lil Wayne for having “the balls to pass on the race card” by stating that racism had not overwhelmingly affected him throughout his life.

“God knows I have been nothing but blessed,” Lil Wayne told Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. “My whole path these 33 years have been nothing but a blessing. I have never, and never is a strong word, never dealt with racism and I’m glad I didn’t have to. I don’t know if it’s because of my blessings but it is my reality.”

After playing the clip showcasing Wayne’s comments during his interview, Lahren continued to convey her admiration.

“I never thought I would say this, but I have a newfound respect for Lil Wayne,” Lahren said. “Even when he was race baited by Skip Bayless, given a shot to claim victimhood and throw down that poor-me, Kaepernick-Beyonce-Jesse Williams-Jada Pinkett Smith race card, he chose to speak his truth.”

Tomi Lahren who is best known, for her wildly controversial statements and political-social philosophies, explained how she arrived at this new found respect for the Young Money rapper (watch below).

“Bet you didn’t expect that – Lil Wayne the unlikely voice of reason,” Lahren stated. “But of course the Black Lives Matter Twitter militia just couldn’t help themselves. They labeled Lil Wayne a coon, an Uncle Tom. You can sit on your half-white ass like Colin Kaepernick, you can raise your Black Panther fist and that is applauded. But as soon as a black person rejects the victimhood narrative, they lose their blackness in the eyes of many of their fans. Huh.”

After thanking Wayne for acknowledging his white fans and conveniently mentioning his criminal record and jail time, Lahren proclaimed her respect for Wayne is rooted in his decision, unlike many African-Americans in the entertainment industry, to play the race card. Lahren finished her inflammatory monologue by claiming racial issues were not a problem before President Barack Obama took office.

While many shows have came and gone throughout the ESPN atmosphere, ESPN2‘s First Take has been a mainstay on the channel and a fan favorite among people everywhere. A big reason for that, was the always controversial opinion given by longtime reporter, Skip Bayless when he and counterpart, Stephen A. Smith would debate on topics such as Johnny Manziel, the NBA Playoffs, police brutality and more. The almost 9-year-run is apparently going to come to a halt with ESPN announcing that Bayless would be leaving the company after a lengthy 12-year-career.

It has been reported by Sports Illustrated‘s Richard Deitsch that Bayless would be leaving his long time employer for Fox Sports on a deal that in total could be worth than $25 million. It was reported that deal would be $5.5 million per year for four years accompanied by $4 million signing bonus. That’s ball player money.

Bayless’ loss leaves ESPN with some large shoes to fill going opposite of the over bearing Smith. Bayless’ controversial takes such as his thoughts on Denver Bronco’s QB Tim Tebow and his everlasting love for the Dallas Cowboys will be sorely missed on the show despite people tweeting about their dislike for the analyst. Fox Sports on the other hand, will be reaping the benefits of ESPN’s misfortune with the acquisition of one of the most well know sports journalist in the country right now. With all of that loot they’re throwing at the former Northwest Classen JV basketball star, one would assume that Bayless would be getting his own feature show and hopefully it’s one where he will be able to speak freely and make outlandish comments such as these gems right here. It is reported that the 64-year-old journalist’s last day with the company will be right after the conclusion of the NBA Finals.

This joint will serve as the new anthem for ESPN‘s First Take, which airs every weekday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m EST. Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith certainly bring some flair to the ESPN studios, so it’s about time that they had an intro song to match.
