This year thus far has been a great year in sports. First it started with Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavs who brought the city of Cleveland it’s first Championship in 52 years and to continue breaking strides in history. Now 19-year-old, three-time gymnastics champion, Simone Biles has become the first woman in 42 years to win not only one but four U.S. all-around titles in a row putting her on the path to Olympic Gold.

Although it might seem like Biles just became a hot sensation overnight, this is far from the case. Biles has been in the league training for over 12 years, picking up many trophies and achieving many accomplishments and endorsement deals along the way. According to People magazine, the 4-foot-9 sensation was born to a mother whom was addicted to drugs and alcohol. Biles and her sister, Adria were placed in foster care as young children until their maternal grandfather, Ron and his wife, Nellie adopted them both in 2003 and raised both girls together in Texas.

Biles considers Ron and Nellie as her parents and values their support:

“They support me in any way possible,” My parents make sure we have everything we need so that we compete to the best of our abilities.” Biles told PEOPLE at the 2016 Team USA Los Angeles Media Summit in March.

At the age of six, Biles was enrolled in gymnastics after she was caught mimicking the routines of the other girls. A letter was sent home by the coach asking that Biles be placed in gymnastics classes and the rest as Nellie said, “Was history.”

But of course you can’t be this good and not have a rigorous workout routine, right? Well, Biles is no exception to the rule of greatness. After her phenomenal win on past Sunday– which puts her in the running for Olympic Gold– Biles is currently working out 32 hours a week. She works out once a day on Monday, Wednesday & Saturday and twice a day on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday; Sundays are her days off in which she spends with family. They say in life in order to play hard, you have to work hard and Biles has definitely gained the best of both worlds. But don’t listen to me – the awards below are just a few that she’s won within the last year alone:

2016 U.S. all-around, vault, balance beam & floor exercise champion

Four-time U.S. all-around champion (2013-16)

2016 Pacific Rim Championships team & all-around champion

USOC’s Female Olympic Athlete of the Year for 2014-15

Winner of the USOC’s Best of November (2015) Team USA Award

Has won 14 world medals (10 gold, two silver, two bronze), which is the most in U.S history

Her 10 World gold medals is the most ever in women’s gymnastics history

2015 U.S. all-around, vault & balance beam champion and floor exercise silver medalist

2015 AT&T American Cup champion

Biles won’t be riding the bus alone to Olympic Gold. 2012 Olympic Gold medalist, Gabby Douglas— whom finished fourth after Sunday’s scores– will be riding alongside Biles as well. Biles has already been classified and receiving praise as being the greatest woman gymnast of all time and once you see her video above, you’ll agree with everyone else. You can catch Biles when the 2016 Olympics airs on NBC, August 5th thru the 21st.
