Despite Girl Disrupted being the Florida native’s debut attempt, the singer/songwriter has been deeply rooted in the industry for quite some time now. Streeter has co-written hit tracks like “Yeah 3x” by Chris Brown and “My Way” by Ariana Grande. She even had her own Billboard Hot 100 hit with “It Won’t Stop” featuring Chris Brown back in 2013.

The last year & a half has been an emotion rollercoaster for me. Lots of ups & downs, but I poured every ounce of it into my album! I’ve loved, lost & tried to LOVE again! I’ve been loyal to people who said fuq me & didn’t return the LOYALTY! I’ve made the conscious choice to clear my life of anything that stood in the way of my LIBERATION and came out a better woman on the other side of it all! I’m freer than I’ve ever been! Happier than I’ve ever been! Wiser than I’ve ever been!
It’s definitely been a long road for Sevyn but nonetheless, her album premiered strategically and appropriately on her 30th birthday (July 7th, 2017).

Girl Disrupted is laced with 13 tracks and has features from August Alsina, Jeremih, Dave East, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign and more.

Sevyn Streeter has seen it all. The prodigal singer-songwriter has seen some success in the music industry in a variety of ways: as part of not one, but two girl groups, as one of Chris Brown‘s rising artists and — eventually — as a solo phenom in her own right. Her ability to write songs has certainly added to Streeter’s accolades as well, penning tracks for the likes of Tamar Braxton, Alicia Keys and Ariana Grande (naturally, Brown has also used her in this capacity as well). In the past few years, she’s managed to release her Call Me Crazy, But… EP and (what one could call) a hold-the-fans-over project titled Shoulda Been There, Pt. 1…still, she has yet to release an actual debut album to the masses.

This year, it seems that Streeter is looking to change that, thanks to the initial drops “My Love For You” and the sure-fire hit “Prolly” (which also features comeback king Gucci Mane). Now, we get to check out a third track titled “D4L”, which is assisted by none other than Terius ‘The-Dream’ Nash and sees Streeter making things simple and plain with a potential (and already attached) lover:

I’m down for life…
Me and your girl ain’t alike…
Baby, nothing lasts forever
Unless you’re down for whatever

Following her relationship with “the earth is flat” rapper B.o.B, Streeter’s new approach to be social is certainly understandable.

Check out “D4L” below and purchase the single via iTunes. The track (as well as the aforementioned others) are said to be appearing on Streeter’s long-awaited album, most-recently titled Girl Disrupted.

Already hitting the charts by storm, the lyricist has earned the respect of many reputable names that appreciate the consistent- smooth, yet upbeat vibe. Staying in connect with the everlasting theme, this highly anticipated production will feature joints; “Don’t Kill The Fun” and “Boomerang”, before Hit-Boy and B.o.B add their unique influence to the work.

There is more to the project than classic verses of course, as Sevyn brings realness in its entirety, aiming to touch others through her lyrical story.

“I don’t write the songs just for me, I believe this collection of music can help someone else. So instead of me pretending and denying what I went through, I’m choosing to put these songs out. This new project is a prelude, please know that more is on the way.”

We wonder what is nEXt in store, but for now check out the tracklist and new joint; “Shoulda Been There” featuring B.o.B.

Tracklist:

Blige and features singer-songwriter Sevyn Streeter.

Used to move dope by the bundle / Push the three series downtown to the tunnel / Dream of this rap sh*t / And getting out the jungle / N*ggas was hungry / N*ggas was not humble / N*ggas should not stumble / If you had something to sting / I would’ve stung you / We gon’ make it / Only dream I ever clung to…

The reminiscent track has the trio looking back on the days when they were just young bucks with dreams and life wasn’t as simple. Take a listen to “You Remind Me” below.

Atlanta’s Birthday Bash 19 was definitely an occasion that was not to be missed. The city was out, the sun was blazing and so were the live performances. The Bash’s guests featured the charts finest artists from the East, West and South, of course. Included in the lineup were some of the industry’s newest artists, as well as smoke established veterans. Sevyn Streeter, Kid Ink, Ca$h Out, B.o.B., Waka Flocka, YG, Yo Gotti, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy and Future all performed for more than 20,000 fans at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena. There were many surprise guests, as well, including Wiz, Bad Boy Ma$e, Ludacris and more.

The premier lineup began when Sevyn Streeter performed her hottest records “nEXt” and “It Won’t Stop.” Halting her singing to dance exclusively to Chris Brown’s “Loyal”, she gave a final shout out to her proclaimed brother, Breezy. Chris Brown may have been absent, but his presence was felt as Kid Ink took to the stage to perform his song “Show Me” featuring Brown himself.

Ca$h Out’s laid back stage persona had the crowd amped to even his oldest anthems including,“Cashin’ Out” and “She Twerkin.” Keeping the momentum going, the hottest records continued to spin including The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems.” Setting the scene for the the ’80’s born, ’90’s bred attendee’s, MA$e charged onto the stage to rap his most memorable flow of all time beginning with, “Now, who hot who not? Tell me who rock, who sell out in the stores?” Fingers turned into a scissor cutting motion as K Camp came out to perform his single “Cut Her Off” along with A1’s “Everywhere We Go.”

Perhaps the most crowd-oriented performances of the night were Atlanta’s own, B.o.B and Waka Flocka. B.o.B cut into his portion of Ty Dolla $ign’s “Paranoid” just before diving into the crowd with “Still In This.” Waka Flocka turned things up a bit more with his “Grove St. Party” single.

Supporting his most recent album, I Am, released in November of 2013, Yo Gotti reminded the city not to confuse his music with nothing less than street with Snootie Wild by his side to perform “Yayo.” Meek Mill brought Philly to the city with “I’m A Boss” and still managed to captivate the crowd with his 2012 Dreams and Nightmares intro. The biggest Boss of the night was Rick Ross coming out the gate to perform “Pop That,” “Devil Is A Lie” and showing major love to Jay Z with “You Know I Got It.”

The most interesting set of the night belonged to Hot 107.9’s own DJ Drama, who brought out some of today’s newest and most top selling artists on the charts right now. He managed to steal Wiz Khalifa away from #HAW to perform “We Dem Boyz” to a surprised crowd, giving him the best reaction of the night. Having DJ’d most of Hustle Gang’s Young Dro mixtapes, he brought Dro out to perform “FDB”. Drama then passed YG the mic. Bringing Cali to Atlanta, YG took to the stage sporting a black 2Pac t-shirt under classic red plaid, his “Bompton” brim and a fresh pair of Nike Cortez’s. He performed “My Nigga” and, of course, it wouldn’t have been complete without Young Jeezy. The snowman himself took over from there and reached back in his catalog to perform “Bottom of The Map” and “Put On.”

Future, who’s right now holding the fort down for Atlanta, had the last and final set. By now the arena was packed to capacity and were overly ecstatic to hear live renditions of his growing catalog including most songs from his new album, Honest. Future, like Drama, had a slew of surprise guests including Juicy J and Mike Will Make It for “Bandz A Make Her Dance.” Mike Will ran on stage with a red duffle bag full of jersey’s to throw out while rapping lyrics from his song, “23.” Pusha T came out to lend his verse for the number one song in the country, “Move That Dope”. Disturbing the Peace’s Ludacris came out to grace the stage for “Same Damn Time” and “Shit”. See a full gallery of photos and video’s over at Hot 107.9.
