It has been a while since we heard anything from Sabatahj (last year, to be precise), but the Louisville, Kentucky crooner is back with a brand new loosie for our listening pleasure, titled “Crush Grooves”, which also features Felly the Voice, who has written hits for Keri Hilson, J. Holiday and more.

If this song sounds familiar to you, it’s because it probably is, as the beat is a slowed down sample of Lil Kim’s timeless record, “Crush On You”. Sabatahj even provides his own, super soulful rendition of the popular hook, originally performed by Lil Cease.

In addition to being the title of this record, “Crush Grooves” can also be classified as a genre, according to Sabatahj.

“Crush Grooves is a style of music I’ve created using the influences of early ’90s Southern rap, mixed with sensual contemporary R&B”, he says “It’s a style of music based on my perception of sex and love.”

With Bryson Tiller already making a strong case for Louisville, it’s safe to say that Sabatahj has thrown his name in the hat as well, in an effort to shed some more light on his city. If this is what we can expect, Louisville appears to be in good shape. Press play on “Crush Grooves”.

Looking to restore that feeling is Indiana singer Sabatahj, as he delivers his new single “Old Skoo”.

Even if you don’t have an “Old Skoo” for the lady to hop in, you could probably still make moves in a Honda Civic, once this song is on. It’s just one of those joints with that wavy, nighttime feel to it. You might hear this song and be slightly reminded of The-Dream, and that alone is pretty dope. Take a listen to “Old Skoo”, below.
