El-P and Killer Mike play by their own rules. While the album was going to be a free download (as well as an iTunes release) on Tuesday, they decided to drop it in the early hours of the morning. The album is chocked full of left-field, jarring production and intricate rhyme schemes, making this easily one of the best releases of the year. El-P and Killer Mike aka Run The Jewels go off on their latest track “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry” from the Adult Swim single series. The duo goes HAM on this hard-hitting cut that will be featured on their upcoming album RTJ2 which drops on October 27th. Michael Winslow, from the Police Academy series, is also featured on the song adding some dope robotic sound effects. This one is a banger for sure.

El-P and Killer Mike’s Run the Jewels (free!) album from last year was incredible. Also, El-P’s production and contributions to Mike’s RAP Music album from 2012 was also amazing Basically, when these two get together, we’re in store for greatness. Well, Run the Jewels 2 has been in the works for a while now, and it looks like we’re nearing the drop.

Today, El dropped a 1:40 snippet of a track tentatively titled “Blockbuster Night.” The production is heavy and ferocious and Killer Mike delivers memorable lines like, “Jake the Snake ’em, DDT ’em into mausoleums.” Sounds like we’re in store for more spectacular music. Stream it below.
