Aside from Styles P, Royce Da 5’9″ held down veteran Hip-Hop in 2018 with top-tier releases, both as part of PRhyme and via his critically-acclaimed Book Of Ryan. Given that, he’s clearly not letting up this year either: below lies his new single “Field Negro,” which sees him tearing into some real race-related topics for six minutes (he also uses the track to son Wale, Kanye West and Tory Lanez, so there’s that). You’ll need to listen to this several times to unpack all that’s being said, for sure.

Royce Da 5’9″ delivers a new visual for his Book Of Ryan track “Summer On Lock,” a big name posse cut that features Fabolous, Jadakiss and Pusha T. Agent Sasco (formerly — ? — know as Assassin) also provides some dope adlibs for the single as well.

Desiigner – L.O.D.

I think we’ve been waiting for Desiigner‘s L.O.D. (Life OF Desiigner) to make landfall for a while now. What was expected to be an official debut album is now a (surprise) 7-track EP that sees the legendary Mike Dean as executive producer. Nonetheless, the turn-up continues for the Brooklyn emcee…check that out below, along with visuals for “Priice Tag” and “Tonka.”

Preme – Light Of Day

Another L.O.D. project sees the light of day (see what I did there?). My own corniness aside, Canadian star Preme delivers his new album titled Light Of Day, which comes with 15 tracks and appearances from Lil Wayne, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Offset, Post Malone, Murda Beatz, DJ Mustard, Ty Dolla $ign and YG. Somewhat surprisingly, OVO boss and close friend Drake doesn’t show up on the tracklisting.

Blocboy JB – Simi

Much in part thanks to Drake, Memphis star Blocboy JB has been sailing in the commercial realm thanks to tracks like “Look Alive,” A$AP Rocky‘s “Bad Company,” “Rover 2.0” (with 21 Savage) and more. Now, he delivers his new project Simi, named after a fallen friend that passed away on Mother’s Day.

In addition to the aforementioned, the 18-track project also sees appearances from YG, Lil Pump and Moneybagg Yo…in addition to the album below, you can also check out a new visual for “No Chorus Pt. 11.”

Even after setting airwaves on fire with PRhyme 2 and that damn Funk Flex freestyle, Royce Da 5’9″ is still gearing up to hit fans in the head with his latest solo album, Book Of Ryan. First, the Detroit rhymer connects with North Carolinian J. Cole on the single “Boblo Boat,” which sees production from Cool & Dre and 808 Ray…the track centers upon the collaborators childhood memories, from sex to family and everything in between.

Leave it to the veteran emcees to set a new standard for freestyles in 2018. When many were getting lackadaisical (or downright trash) on the microphone, The Roots‘ frontman Black Thought decided to shake the earth with a 10-minute-long onslaught of bars for the viewers during a visit to Funkmaster Flex. Everyone knew it would be rather impossible to top what took place that day…and then, this:
