First, the dynamic Hip-Hop duo deliver a new single titled “Era,” which features assistance from current New York frontrunner Dave East. As expected, bars.

“Boston Strong” isn’t just a saying its a lifestyle, Avenue, walks us through his journey painting a portrait through vivid description and imagery. The South End native has only been expanding his lyricism and wordplay separating himself apart from his constituants. Avenue is one of the few who seem to be rising from the ashes like a phenix, putting the myth that Boston has met its dying breed of artist.

With the recent release of his album Mass Ave & Lenox, Ave’s pen game shows to be quite deadly presenting us “Bars” at its finest. Giving us a preview of the potential that this album, Ave dropped the music video for “Ain’t S*** Funny.” The album features Royce 5’9, Smoke DZA, Ariez Onasis, Deon Chase & Prano. From the bars to the beats you have to give homage to production which was handle by Cooking to Kill (Frank The Butcher & The Arcitype), Dj7L (Czarface), Joe Cutz, Latrell James & Tedd Boyd, D. Sanders, OG Wally West & Sauve Beats.

Putting sweat and tears into each bar is apart of the building blocks of ascension, until you find yourself you’ll never know what you were meant for. Luckily for Avenue he found himself embodying the soul and aura of Boston. Through precise lyricism and punchlines on his record “Mass Ave & Lenox” proves to show that everything isn’t what it seems in this cold world. One must fend for themselves if they every choose to make it out from where they originated from.

To help send his message, Royce tapped into his creative side and incorporated powerful snippets of awakening soundbites from a Louis Farrakhan speech and it goes along perfect with the visual.

In the video– featuring G.O.O.D music’s Pusha T and MMG boss Rick Ross— director Ryan Snyder illustrates the perfect picture on how to cease corruption. He gets gully as he uses the three emcees to set up a kidnapping and a heist on a dirty politician.

But just as the project’s title, they’re layers to the madness. First, Royce takes over the front desk of a motel, where the politician lured into checking in by two beautiful women. Once they arrive at the room, Pusha T then comes in and robs him at gunpoint and kidnaps him. The politician is then taken to slums where he is dealt with while Rozay enjoys counting the money with the two beautiful women.

Just as the lyrics of the song, the video is just as enlightening. America is full of sleazy politicians and in just over four minutes, it shows us how to capture one. Enjoy the visual above.

Royce Da 5’9″, Eminem’s running mate on Hell: The Sequel, is hard at work on his next solo venture.  The upcoming album, Success is Certain, pits Royce with several collaborators in what he hopes will measure up to his last project.  Keep an eye out, the LP is set to be released on August 9th.
