C-Murder was granted a few hours outside the walls of the Angola State Penitentiary over the weekend. The circumstances were anything but joyous, however, as he attended a relative’s funeral. Romeo tweeted the above picture, saying that having a conversation with his uncle “was a blessing.” The rapper remained shackled at the waist throughout the visit, while dressed in an orange prison jumpsuit.

In 2009, C-Murder was convicted on the charge of fatally shooting a teenage fan in a Louisiana night club. He was sentenced to life in prison. While the rapper continues to proclaim his innocence, the charge was recently upheld by a three-judge panel from the state’s 5th Circuit Court of Appeal in 2011.
