Elusive rap legend Jay Electronica has risen from the underground and officially come out with a new track titled “Road to Perdition.” After a low-quality version of the song was leaked yesterday, Jay himself posted the track early Friday morning on Twitter, saying, “Oh well, since it leaked…here’s a better quality version.”

“Road to Perdition” begins with what sounds like an introduction by Jay-Z, but as the song progresses you realize Electronica’s mixing in a number of ad-lib lines from Hova’s track “Success” from the American Gangster album. Jay’s sharp and witty lyricism hooks you in immediately and moves at his signature fast pace, commenting on what he considers fake and real in the hip-hop world: “The flow is too atomic/ The poetry too Quran’c, a young prophet Muhhamed/ And I could drop a verse that change the whole vibration/ The whole Roc Nation, the whole Live Nation/ So pour a libation.”

Should this give us a reason to believe Jay Electronica’s album is finally on its way? We’re just hoping it happens in the next decade. Listen to the track below and decide for yourself.
