As she now releases hew most recent records, one features Rich The Kid called “No Shame” and the second one “Like That.” She wants her listeners to feel confident, sexy, carefree, and empowered. Megan encourages people to remain true to themselves and your inner thoughts. The Long Island creative briefly opens up about her motivation and inspiration behind her work:

“My creative process is basically the same for every record I create… I always listen to the beat first and catch a vibe… then I create melodies…that initial vibe transcribes to lyrics … and the lyrics that stick are the ones that fit the melody. In this case, the No Shame instrumental felt very sensual to me… the lyrics needed to match that feeling… the story for No Shame doesn’t necessarily come from my personal experiences… a lot of my inspiration comes from movies, tv shows, my friends, and other music… when I’m getting ready, I always put on music… the type of music I put on depends on what type of mood I want to be in… if I’m going out to party, I’ll put on music that makes me feel confident and sexy… I feel that No Shame really gives off that vibe. When people listen to my music, they tend to get the idea that I’m a promiscuous woman… given that the majority of my songs sound very sensual… but honestly that’s not the case… like I said, most of the inspiration I get is from movies, TV shows, and stories… the title “No Shame” is really just inspired by a feeling of no guilt, no regret, and vulnerability. I would love for my listeners to feel the way that I feel when I’m making my music…and for them to feel that way, I need to be transparent and vulnerable… even when I record my music I try to embody the emotion that I’m trying to portray so that my listeners can relate more… I am constantly perfecting my craft… I’m definitely not perfect… but I want my music to sound the way I want it to sound… I will listen to a track I recorded a ridiculous amount of times just to make sure I’m ok with the world hearing what I want to say. Like That was actually the first song I had ever written… the reason being that the beat gave off such a specific vibe that the lyrics literally just poured out… line after line the song was created in under 20 minutes… I started with the chorus then built around it… Like That has such a fun, sexy, and flirty vibe… I really do feel that the lyrics definitely match the vibe of the instrumental… the song just makes you want to get up and dance… well at least for me it does.”

Singing sensation V Bozeman (Mosley Music Group) has been traveling city to city creating a soulful escape for crowds across the nation, alongside R&B greats Raheem DeVaughn and Leela James on “The Love ‘N Soul Experience” Tour. From the iconic Apollo Theater in New York City to Club Nokia in L.A. on the West Coast, V captivated thousands of new fans performing her hit single “What Is Love” which debuted on FOX’s hit show Empire.

Last week V had a surprise guest appearance made by her friend and fellow R&B sensation Timothy Bloom as they performed their sexy hit record “Til The End of Time” which has garnered over 2.5 million views.

Mary J. Blige literally won’t quit! And with each release, she outdoes herself again and again. Fresh off of her latest project, The London Sessions, which we touched on here and here, the rhythm and blues crooner dropped visuals for “Whole Damn Year.”

Shot in melancholic black and white, the video takes the viewer through different stories of break up. Each one emphasizes the devastating aftermath that a bad split can have, and the lingering side effects that you just can’t seem to shake off.

In the song, Blige laments,

See Winter took most of my heart
And Spring punched me right in the stomach
Summer came looking for blood
And by Autumn, I was left with nothing

This song packs a bit more of a punch than the poppy, fun singles that have been floating around cyberspace since The London Sessions dropped. It marks a return to Blige’s bluesy style, and gut-wrenching emotional effect.
